Bride
The star of the wedding!!! ;)
Matron of Honor
Alix is my best friend from college! We met in 2017 when I moved down to Missouri Southern State University and have been inseparable since! I moved into a dorm halfway through a year of college 4 hours away knowing absolutely nobody (which if you know me, that is COMPLETELY unlike me to do something like that). I think it was meant to be and a blessing in disguise knowing who I was going to be living with that semester. Alix was one of four roommates that I moved in with. Throughout my 2 years at MSSU Alix and myself lived together for each one! We were best friends while Alix was going through nursing school and I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life... lol! We were literally inseparable. We would wake each other up from naps to go to breakfast after classes, go on late night "Dons" runs, and scare the ever living daylights out of each other on a daily basis. God knew what he was doing when he put Alix in my life. That is why I say it was meant to be when I went down to MSSU halfway through a college school year. He put someone I could count on through ups and downs, good and bad. I do not know where I would be without her and I truly mean that. Although, she currently lives 3 hours away from me, and is possibly moving further....traitor... there isn't a day that goes by that we do not talk and I would not trade that for the world! I am so thankful to have her by my side on this big day!
Maid of Honor
Sinclaire is my other best friend that I met through work! We met back when I first started working at a kids gym in 2016. It wasn't until about 2019 and went back to working at the gym when I moved back from college that we really got to know each other. We had one of the worst class times together which is how we got to know each other so well!! Haha! One of our classes did not end until 8:30 pm and we were always the last employees to leave! Little did she know how much of an impact she made on me as a person. Sinclaire has been through a lot with me. When I first met Luke I was head over heels. She never came out and said this but I think she would get a little annoyed about how much I talked about him, but I could not help myself! She is the friend who when I am going to make a decision if she thinks it is good or bad she will tell me. When she met Luke for the first time she told me how much he liked me and she could tell how much he appreciated me. After a while she had an instinct. "Courtney, you are going to marry Luke. I promise you that. You guys are made for each other" That is how she quoted it to me. Well, here we are. We are getting married and she is my maid of honor!!
Bridesmaid
Abbey is my first cousin from my mom's side! I was so excited when another girl got added to the family in 2006. It wasn't just my brother and I anymore!! Abbey and I have always been super close since we were the only two girls in the family for 8 years! Yes, you could say we were spoiled. We were picked on, but having that girl power was always something that you could never separate! I am go glad to have Abbey by my side on my big day! She was one that ever since she was born I knew she was going to be standing next to me on my wedding day!
Junior Bridesmaid
Chloe is one of my younger sister's. She is full of sass and is a mini me (is that good or bad?) I always wanted a little sister to spoil, and I was so happy when my parents told me that was going to happen!!! Having a built in best friend is so much fun! Chloe is 10 years old and in 5th grade! She was a major part in this wedding as she helped plan a lot of it thanks to living down here at the beach. Chloe saw the ring before anyone else did. Luke told my sisters it was a "trip" and he showed them where he was taking me. They thought it was so cool to be able to be in on the surprise without me knowing! I am ecstatic that Chloe is standing by my side to help me celebrate my wedding day!!!
Junior Bridesmaid
Callie is the youngest of the Schmidt's and she is sweet as can be, but stubborn as heck! (Do we see a pattern with the Schmidt side...) She is the best built in bestie anyone could ask for!!! I was shocked when my parents told me they were having ANOTHER baby girl!! Callie is 9 years old and in 4th grade! Cal helped out with planning the wedding and knew I was getting engaged also!!! Sooo not fair!!! She did such a good job at keeping the secret that Luke was going to propose, because if you know Callie, she is the first one to let somebody know what is going on ;). It means so much to me that Callie is able to stand by my side on my wedding day!!
.
Groom
The supporting role in the wedding!!
Best Man
It's weird to call him Nathan... sooo Briggs has been one of Luke's best friends since college. They met at a youth tournament (Junior Gold) in 2015. After Luke wore red shorts, the rest was history.
Groomsman
Somehow mistaken for being brothers at one time, Scott and Luke became friends while bowling together at Lindenwood Belleville. (There's a theme to that). Their friendship remains very strong despite Scott's love for the Cubs and Bears.
Groomsman
Call him Matthew like he calls Luke Lucas... Matt asked to wear hats during the ceremony and the bride said no. Matt and Luke bowled against each other for years but through our college days at Belleville became closer friends.
Groomsman
Luke and Garrett have been friends since we were 5 years old. In all honesty Garrett was one of the few that stuck around on their own. Garrett probably showed up one of the 17 cars he's been working on for years.
Groomsman
Luke calls him Cuz, and vice versa. The nickname has stuck for years. Jeff is a first cousin on Luke's mom's side of the family.
Groomsman
Another cousin of Luke's, grew up 5 minutes from each other and spent a lot of time together in our early years. Both have lived in Wentzville, but once Luke moved there, James sensed that would happened and left before that ruined his life.
Groomsman
The pretty one of our friend group, Branden is a former bowling teammate and roommate at Lindenwood Belleville. Someone else who doesn't like being called by his first name so call him Boehnke or Banks.
Usher
Courtney's brother, Nick is something else. He can make you laugh, or make you contemplate life at times. Nick and Courtney were always close growing up. So close that they would go from playing a game to Nick dragging Courtney around the house by her ponytail. There is some competition between Luke and Nick and that is who is better at baseball. Now, this could go either way with how we are playing it. Are we playing video game wise, or are we playing live? If you ask Nick " I AM a machine and I am better at both" and if you ask Luke "there is no chance at live baseball, but I will take the chance at the video games."
Usher
A long time family friend, CC was never formally asked in person to be an usher since we didn't know the next time we would see him in person... (so sorry ceez..), but the reply with "Yeah, I can do that forsure!" let Luke and I know he was PUMPED to do this... LOL!!! We are kidding, BUT what we are not kidding about is that CC is absolutely hilarious and such an amazing person! There are only three things you need to know about him though, he loves chipotle, and would eat it every meal if he could. He catches the most random stuff on video and we have no idea how. And last, but not least, do NOT have him book you a hotel unless you want it to be a month out from when you need it.
