If you've never been to the Corning Museum of Glass, we strongly recommend you go! Did you know Corning is the birthplace of the glass lightbulb, Pyrex glassware, fiber optics, iPhone glass, and more? Most recently, Corning developed the vials used to hold American-made covid vaccines! An apprenticeship at CMOG is the coveted top prize for the winner of the Blown Away competition, which streams on Netflix. Artistry and interactive activities are in abundance here. Go see and find out!
One of the oldest and largest glider clubs in the country offering rides to the public. See beautiful Chemung county from the air!
Enjoy a leisurely stroll in the summertime down Market Street, where you'll find coffee, food, window shopping, and a wonderful atmosphere to sit and enjoy the summer weather. Dana loves the antique stores here, with more Pyrex and Corningware than you can shake a stick at. Jon recommends stopping for a bite to eat at Aniello's Pizza, where you can find the famous chicken wing pizza (blue cheese on the side!)
A local hole-in-the-wall spot, Peaches and Cream is famous for it's quality ice cream at a price reminiscent of the 1970s. Jon and Dana love the soft serve here (especially with rainbow sprinkles). The sizes are amazing- a "baby" size is one full scoop, and you can get up to a large, which is 5 cartoonishly full scoops for $4!
