Please RSVP ASAP, so we may let our vendors know what to anticipate.
It is recommended to arrive 20-30 minutes early.
We are having an Extraordinary Form Mass, which runs a little longer than an Ordinary form mass. You may anticipate a ceremony of nearly two hours. Extraordinary Form masses also have different replies and mainly replies in Latin rather than in English, as in the Ordinary Form. White Books will be available in order to follow along.
While there is no church strict dress code for men, to match the event men will feel most comfortable in a suit and bowtie/tie. Similar to Church Sunday Dress, or a Southern Garden Party.
Please wear your Sunday Best, or similar to a Southern Garden Party style. Additionally, the chapel has a strict dress code, and we would appreciate following their rules. Dresses should cover the shoulders- the air conditioning is quite cold as well, so if you have a cover that would be a good idea! Dresses and skirts should come down to the bottom of the crease of the knees and should not have slits higher than the bottom of the crease of the knee. Dresses should cover the chest, and no cleavage should be visible. Dresses should cover the back, please cover any straps.
A Chapel Veil is a beautiful devotion specifically by women during mass as a way to focus herself and give love to God. You are encouraged to wear them and participate in this devotion but are not required to. Many women, however, wear them to the Extraordinary Form, so do not be surprised if you see many colorful and beautiful veils being worn by more than just the bride!
In the middle of mass you will see many people getting up to receive communion: the body and blood, soul and divinity of God fully and truly present in the species of bread and wine. You are invited to receive if you are a Catholic in good standing and are free from mortal sin. If you are not, we ask that if you choose to come up, to bow your head and indicate to the priest that you would like a blessing instead.
There is both parking at the ceremony and the reception. Parking at the Church is across the street from the chapel, behind the funeral home. Parking at the reception on the side of the hall.
