We will be staying in the cabins from Thursday - Sunday. The cabins require a 3 night minimum.
You will NOT need to hike to get to either. We do recommend shoes you can walk on uneven granite rock for the ceremony and grass for the reception.
For both the ceremony and reception we prefer slacks, dress shirt, dresses and a flat sole shoe as the ceremony will be on granite rock and reception will be outside with multiple surfaces. Do bring a light jacket since mornings and evenings offer a cool breeze.
Our wedding permit enforces a strict capacity limit, therefore when you RSVP if a guest name isn't an option then we'd prefer if it was just you.
Go to the Valley and see any of the following: Tunnel View, Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, Vernal & Mist Falls (active hike). Travel Guide: https://www.travelyosemite.com/things-to-do/hiking/self-guided-hikes/
The Valley is 45 minutes NE of the cabins. Glacier & Taft Point are 45 min NE of the cabins. Mariposa Grove is 5 min S. of the cabins. The park entrance at Fish Camp is 20 min South.
There is a good chance it will not work in Wawona, but most cabins have Wifi. Yosemite Valley seems to pick up cell service much better. It is spotty on the highway inside all Yosemite Park.
If driving to the Valley, leave early (before 9am) to avoid heavy traffic. Park and then use the free park shuttles. If needed, a YART can take you from Wawona to the Valley. Use this map for the Valley parking and shuttle stops: http://npmaps.com/wp-content/uploads/yosemite-valley-shuttle-bus-map.pdf
In Wawona, there is a gas station and diner at Big Trees Lodge. There is a small grocery mart at the cabins and another at Big Trees Lodge. Yosemite Valley has no gas but multiple eating options in the "villages" or lodges. We recommend stopping in a city before Yosemite to grab a few snacks since the cabins have fully equipped kitchens.
Only black bears here, and with so many tourists it would be rare to see one, but be smart and DO NOT leave food outside or in your car. Seriously!
