Fate was at play when it comes to Alyssa and Jack meeting, some may say 3rd time’s a charm! In April of 2015, both Alyssa and Jack played at the same spring break golf tournament at the LPGA course in Florida. Alyssa remembers chatting with her teammates about the guys in royal blue pants at the range. Jack remembered someone from CT played at Lehigh but that's about it. Several months later in August, the two found themselves volunteering for The Northern Junior at New Haven Country Club. Jack came over and introduced himself to Alyssa with a classic "Hi I'm Jack, I think we're friends on Facebook". Charming but again nothing ever came of it. Then November of that same year Alyssa's brother Mike was meeting up with his friends for dinner. Alyssa was convinced to attend with a promise of a classy sushi dinner at a local BYOB place. Luckily, she was armed with a bottle of wine, and then in walks Jack who sat at the other end of the table. After dinner the group migrated to the now closed Grant's in West Hartford where the two finally got to chatting. Alyssa was feeling bold, and Jack was charming, there was a midnight kiss and an exchange of numbers. Their first date shortly followed, and they officially started dating right before New Year’s Eve. This will begin the tale of Alyssa and Jack, with a common theme of long distance. The next 4 years would test their relationship, from Canada, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Birmingham UK and Dallas - no amount of distance would split up the two. Instead, their relationship grew, and they learned to truly appreciate each other’s company. Finally, Jack and Alyssa matched up in West Hartford in August 2019 and upgraded the relationship to roommates. Luckily for Jack, Alyssa adopted a dog in TX and Newt was a perk to any living situation. Clearly this was successful because they now live in Stamford, CT and Jack was ready to make these roommates permanent… On December 18th, 2021, Alyssa was with her mom and sister-in-law Olivia at their annual Gingerbread House brunch in Boston getting in the holiday spirit. After brunch they were walking through Boston Public Gardens and there was a familiar handsome, tall, blonde standing off in the distance. Jack surprised Alyssa in the park and sank to one knee asking the all-important question. She, of course said "yes", and the surprises kept coming. Newt, Mike and Rick (Alyssa’s dad) came from behind the trees as well as a photographer to capture all the tears and joyful smiles. October 14, 2023, will be their next big adventure and the story is sure to continue with more laughs and love between the two (and hopefully less moves!)
