We're getting married!

Emily and Reid’s story started the way all great love stories do: as “just friends”… or at least that’s what they told themselves. They met at Westfield High School and quickly became inseparable. For a full year, they insisted there was nothing more than friendship despite being total magnets and, quite honestly, fooling no one. Deep down, Emily knew it was always him… even if she tried to convince herself otherwise. At 17, near the end of their junior year, they finally gave in and started dating, which was right in the middle of Covid. Their first “dates” looked a little different than most: runs at Cool Creek Park, hill workouts, walking through creeks, and finding any excuse to spend time together outside. And, of course, like the classy teenagers they were, their first official sit-down date was at Texas Roadhouse. Growing up together wasn’t always easy. Figuring out who they were as individuals, while also learning how to be a team, came with challenges, change, and a lot of growth. But through it all, they chose each other again and again, and built a relationship rooted in patience, support, and a whole lot of laughter. Six years later, that same park where it all began became the place Reid proposed, bringing their story full circle in the sweetest way. Since those high school days, they’ve grown up side by side. Reid graduated from the University of Saint Francis in 2025 with a degree in Exercise Science and is now building his career in personal training. Emily graduated from Marian University in 2024 with degrees in Psychology and Nutrition, Fitness, and Wellness, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education at Indiana University Bloomington. She is set to graduate in the summer of 2027 (a big year ahead!). Through every season, one thing has stayed the same: they are truly each other’s best friends. What started as a “just friends” situation turned into a love that just feels right, supportive, and full of laughter. From high school hallways to forever, they're just getting started.
