We are incredibly excited to share some of our favorite places with you. With the wedding taking place over Labor Day weekend, we hope that you will be able to take advantage of some extra time to allow for exploration. As mentioned, the easiest way to get around comfortably in the greater Salt Lake City area will be by car. We have included a map of where some these places to help with planning.

BREAKFAST: Sharon's Café

If you like greasy breakfast food, this place is for you! Rachel’s favorite breakfast spot since high school. Her go-to order: the Greek way with scrambled eggs and bacon on sourdough bread.

Its blend of alpine adventure and refined small-town charm makes Park City a truly memorable place for you to explore. It is one of our favorite places to visit!

Snowbird

Snowbird’s Oktoberfest is a lively alpine celebration set in the heart of Utah’s mountains. Known as one of the longest-running Oktoberfests in the U.S., it features authentic Bavarian food, live music, traditional dancing, craft beers, scenic tram rides, and family-friendly activities—all surrounded by stunning mountain views. Great activity for Saturday or Sunday after the wedding.

Cotton Bottom Inn

This laid-back tavern-style restaurant is beloved for its casual vibe, friendly service, and classic comfort food — especially its famous garlic burgers and cold drinks. Located less than a half mile from the Hyatt Place, it is an awesome place to hang out and unwind.

Guardsman Pass

Scenic, winding drive that connects Big Cottonwood Canyon and Park City. Prepare for breath taking views while driving SLOWLY.

Hiking Options

There are plenty of hiking trails ranging from easy to hard treks. AllTrails and Strava give detailed descriptions with lengths and difficulties listed. Some of our favorite easier hikes are Donut Falls Trail and the Bear Canyon Bridge. Some moderate options include the Ensign Peak Trail and Neff's Canyon Loop.

Dirty Sodas

Utah is famous for its soda shops. Swig and Thirst are among our favorites, with multiple locations in Salt Lake County. Driving this canyon is beautiful! Or want to do a short easy hike check out Silver Lake Loop (Easy): A 0.9-mile, mostly flat boardwalk trail perfect for families and scenic, leisurely strolls.
