Question

Where is the ceremony at?

Answer

Due to the recent fire at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, our ceremony will now be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster, Ohio. The Mass will be celebrated and practiced as closely as possible to how it would have been at St. John’s, and we’re so grateful to St. Augustine for welcoming us during this time.

What time should guests arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The wedding Mass will begin at 1:30 pm. We recommend arriving between 1:00 and 1:15 pm to allow time to find a seat and get settled. There will be plenty of seating, and we kindly ask that guest sit wherever they'd like. There will not be a "bride" or "groom" side.

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is semi-formal, a balance between casual and formal. For men: A suit and tie or a sport coat with slacks. For women: A cocktail dress, a dressy skirt and top, or a nice sundress. Because the ceremony will be held inside a catholic church, we ask that guests do not wear hats or head coverings during the service, unless it is a religious veil worn as a sign of reverence.

Are kids welcome / can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation will list all invited guests by name. If it does not include “and guest” or “and family,” we kindly ask that you do not bring additional guests or children. We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep the celebration comfortable and personal.

Will there be an open bar or cash bar?

Answer

We’re happy to share that it will be an open bar! At this time, transportation plans are still being finalized, so we recommend assigning a designated driver or arranging safe transportation ahead of time.

If you have any questions leading up to the wedding, please feel free to reach out to Ryan or Kara. On the day of the wedding, please contact our parents — Alan or Lyn — so we can stay focused on enjoying the day and celebrating with everyone.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

There are a lot of great options for hotels that are within driving distance to the wedding. We are planning on renting out a block of rooms at The Holiday Inn Express in Sidney, Ohio. If you are interested in staying in one of those rooms, please message Lyn Scaife as soon as possible so she can make sure there is enough room for everyone.
