Matthew 19:6

Freshman year Joy found herself without a ride to church. She called up her focus leader and asked to tag along in her carpool. Josh was driving the car. After they would return from church everyone went to brunch. The carpool group totaled 7 people. One by one people petered out (7:15 on the weekend is rough on college students). Joy enjoyed not only the services but the rousing brunch conversations and found herself always looking forward to Sunday's. And the rest is history....

Joy's first day at CBU her roommate returned from the first of the welcome weekend focus group activities. In casual conversation Riley said "Joy I found the guy you are going to marry! It's my focus leader Josh. He is tall, loves Jesus, is going to be a doctor, wants to do medical missions AND he loves Disney". Joy promptly dismissed this story and later met Josh through her carpool to church. With every encounter between Joy and Josh, Riley's elation grew (despite Joy's constant denial). About a year later they started dating and now they are preparing to tie the knot. We all are so thankful Riley's prediction came true.

Joy had since acknowledged her feelings for Josh and was hoping to get him to notice her. As part of a CBU event called TWIRP (The Woman Is Required to Pay) Joy invited Josh to join her, his sister and their friend John to California Adventure. Here, Josh became assured of his feelings and knew it was time to pursue Joy.

Josh was preparing to pop the question and he wanted to go the full nine yards. Thus, he cut out 27 feet, each footprint had the description of a special event in their relationship and the date. To go with them Josh had a picture of each event that would stand up besides its coinciding footprint. He had them set up chronologically leading up to that day where the last footprint says "the day she said yes". At the end of the trail there was a beautiful gazebo, a small round table with a white table cloth, flowers in a crystal vase, and a photograph of Josh and Joy with a bible verse written atop. He said the sweetest things while cupping Joy's face in his hands. Then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The two then celebrated after in downtown Disney with some of their friends.
