What is the Baraat and where will it happen?
Answer
Baraat is a groom's wedding procession in India and Pakistan. In Indian communities, it is customary for the bridegroom to travel to the wedding venue on a mare, accompanied by his family members. The baraat can become a large procession, with booking its own band and dancers. The Baraat will take place on Filbert Street outside of the Marriott hotel beginning promptly at 11AM EST.

Unfortunately, as much as we’d love to invite all of our guests’ children, we can only accommodate a few children from our immediate family. We hope that you will understand this decision and still be able to join us on our special day.

What is a Sangeet?
Answer
The word Sangeet translates to ‘sung together’ from Sanskrit. ‘Gaun’, another word used to describe the event, means ‘songs’ or ‘to sing’ in Hindi. Traditionally celebrated in the Punjab regions of India, this ceremony has been adopted by many other regions as a form of celebration for the wedding to come. The event is formally known to comprise of only female attendees from both sides of the family, however modern times allow for men to join in on the fun too. Unlike religious ceremonies such as the Haldi or portions of the wedding ceremony, the Sangeet is solely conducted to relish in the happiness and joy surrounding the couple.
