We recommend arriving in Athens for the wedding on 8/23/25 or 8/24/25 and then leaving on/after 8/28/25.
Travel Note
The sidewalks in Athens are made out of marble. Please bring shoes with good traction/grip. August in Greece will be hot! We recommend bringing a small portable fan to help keep cool and remember to drink lots of water. The evenings tend to be cooler so consider bringing a light jacket to wear while enjoying the plazas.
Flight
Athens has one international airport, Eleftherios Venizelos. Entry requirements: (1) passport valid for 6 months after your arrival to Greece; and (2) ETIAS (NOT NEEDED as of 4/26/25!!) Transportation: metro, bus, rental car options, or Uber!
Rental Car
If you have never driven in Greece, we recommend you also get full car insurance through the rental car company, this should include a full damage waiver. Most car rental companies offer an option to add a "Travel Companion" with your reservation which is a Wi-Fi mobile hotspot that can connect up to 6 devices!

This is another great hotel option ~35 km from the wedding venue! This hotel will also give you great access to Athens city center via public transportation! Please note: Due to the distance from our wedding venue, we will be unable to provide a shuttle to/from this hotel.

Below is a list of nearby areas and towns: • Anavyssos – A laid-back coastal town with budget options, 10 minutes from Hatzi Estate. • Sounio – Known for its stunning sunset views and the Temple of Poseidon, 20 minutes from Hatzi Estate and Anavyssos. • Lagonisi – A peaceful seaside area with resorts and villas, 20 minutes from the venue. • Varkiza – A quieter coastal area offering a relaxed atmosphere, 30 minutes away from our venue. • Vouliagmeni – A luxury coastal area with sandy beaches and high-end hotels, 35 minutes from Hatzi Estate. Of course, AIRBNB and VRBO rentals are always an option, but we recommend you book something near Anavyssos or Sounio.
