Maid of Honor

What an honor to call Chelsey my best friend. Since high school, she has stood by my side in everything. She is the sunshine in my life. We grew close through high school biology and both marching band and concert band. In biology, we had an egg named, "Shelbert." In band, we marched in four seasons of shows and competitions, marched in one season of winter guard/drumline, played countless concerts, survived four band camps, organized music in folders, cried both tears of joy and sadness, and laughed as hard as we could. So many memories were made in band, like going to Disney World and NYC together! We got to watch Wicked live on Broadway. We have been on so many vacations together, like going to Dollywood at Christmas, a senior trip to feed the sloths, a second senior trip to Gatlinburg, and Universal for her 21st birthday! Throughout it all, Chelsey has been one of my biggest supporters and encouragers. She has been by my side through every celebration and every heartbreak, and I am so excited for her to be standing next to me on my wedding day.

My sister <3 I am so thankful to have a wonderful sister. She has always been one of my biggest supporters and encouragers. I am not sure how to fit a description of a lifetime of memories and gratitude into only 1500 words. My sister is one of the smartest, most hard-working, caring people I know. One of my favorite memories with my sister has been going to NYC together twice! We have seen both Wicked and Phantom of the Opera live on Broadway! My sister is who first introduced me to Wicked and shared her love for it with me. In my junior year of high school, the marching band took a trip to NYC, planning to see Wicked among many other activities, and my sister surprised me there! For my 21st birthday, my parents surprised me with tickets for my mom, my sister, and me to go see Phantom of the Opera! I am so thankful to have a sister who loves, supports, encourages, and laughs with me (sometimes at me). I have picked up a habit of my sister's, which is singing random things, including thoughts. If you have ever been on the phone with my sister while grocery shopping or cleaning, you know what I am talking about, ha! My sister and I have dreamt of my wedding for so long. I am overjoyed, thankful, and honored to have her standing next to me on my wedding day.

Dori and I's friendship began and grew at Cumberland Springs Bible Camp, a place that we both care greatly about. We spent many late nights sitting in closets, dreaming of and planning our future weddings. The days have finally come and I am so thankful to have Dori by my side. Dori constantly points me to Christ, his promises, and his love. She encourages me and prays for me. From spending the summers working together, being counselors together, dancing and do-si-do-ing in the rain, taking selfies in the camp bathroom mirrors, crying, laughing, and so much more, this friendship is one I will forever cherish and be thankful for.

My honorary little sister! Bailey and I have been friends since we were babies. We grew up in church together doing junior choir plays. She has been by my side through every season of life. In my junior year of high school, I decided to participate in the Distinguished Young Women program. For this program, you get to choose a “little sister” to help you on the day of the performance. Of course, I chose Bailey! Bailey has always supported me and encouraged me. She has always prayed for me and pointed me toward Christ. I am so thankful for Bailey and her genuine friendship. I am honored and so excited to have her stand next to me on my wedding day.
