Krista's favorite pizza place. It's a food truck outside of a really cool coffee shop / bar called The Buzz Mill. It's all veggie pizza, but the pepperoni substitute (beeteroni) is *kisses fingers like an Italian* They have vegan and gluten-free options. Recommend: The beeteroni & jalapeño pizza. Note: only open for dinner.
Krista's favorite breakfast taco. Super cute family-owned restaurant with awesome outside area. Recommend: The chorizo, egg, & cheese + the chips & queso.
Krista's favorite donut place. Very simple and not as flashy as VooDoo Doughnuts, but they're perfect. No vegan or gluten-free options :( Recommend: The strawberry glazed.
Krista's favorite BBQ. Recommend: Brisket, brisket, brisket.
Krista's favorite Mexican food. Recommend: The enchiladas and avocado margaritas.
Krista's favorite bar. Truly the diviest bar of all bars. For some reason there are Christmas lights up year-round, live music, and cheap drinks.
Krista's favorite "nice" bar. It's beautiful inside, has a secret back room, and a rooftop bar is opening soon. Recommend: A happy hour French 75
BEST migas taco in town (in our opinion). Also has coffee and other breakfast food options as well as tons of outdoor seating if the weather is nice.
This was the location of our first date as well as a great place to grab brunch, a bucket of mimosas, or even for a late night drink and music.
Boutique hotel where the celebs usually stay but also the best place in town to get some frozen rose (frose) in their pool area open to the public.
Rent kayaks, canoes, or stand up paddle boards to get a good view of the Austin skyline from the water. If water isn't your thing just walk the scenic loop around the lake which is about 3 miles.
Newest and prettiest public library in downtown Austin. Make sure to check out the rooftop views.
Kelly's favorite dive bar/on-stage karaoke venue. Karaoke starts at 10pm so be sure to get there early if you want a spot on the list.
Chill brewery in South Austin. Also located next to Austin's first whiskey distillery as well as an indoor winery and coffeeshop if beer isn't your thing. Soursop food truck at St. Elmo brewery also rumored to be very good.
Chill burger place by day, tiki drinks and DJ by night. One of Kelly's favorite veggie burgers, and Krista-approved hamburgers.
Delicious vegetarian food that will make you forget about meat (momentarily). Kelly loves the tofu scramble, grilled blueberry muffins, or sweet potato tamales, and Krista loves the migas and refried beans.
Austin's trendy new hostel that also has ample parking (key in Austin), and good drinks and snacks. Recommend: Moscow mule with lime foam and waffle fry nachos.
