Krista and Kelly met on the set of a web series (a parody of The Bachelorette) where they were both fake-competing for another girl's heart. Krista knew after their first few minutes of talking that she wanted to know everything about this girl. She was instantly hooked by Kelly's adorable charm and infectious laugh. She spent that weekend wondering how in the world she could get this girl to agree to a first date. Luckily, Kelly did agree to that date. Things worked out pretty well after that.

On their second date, Krista and Kelly got drinks at one of Austin's infamous secret bars. While there, they played a round or two of the game "Operation". Not that it's important to the story, but Krista dominated both games. Anyway, a couple of weeks later, it was Kelly's birthday. The relationship was very new, so Krista had to get the perfect gift. It had to say "Happy Birthday, I'm into you" without saying "You barely know me, so this birthday present is creepy". She decided to throw back to their super fun second date and buy Kelly her very own "Operation" game. They played it a couple of times over the next several months, usually on nights when they felt like staying in with glasses of wine or pints of ice cream. When Krista decided to propose on the first night in their new apartment, she knew she wanted the moment to be simple and personal. Kelly wanted to stay in to celebrate their first night, so Krista decided to suggest a game night. The game night would most certainly include "Operation" and there would most certainly be a ring waiting inside of the game for Kelly to find.
