Savannah and Robert never could have known...
that one simple "swipe in the right direction" would lead to them planning their lives together. Right away, Robert was eager to meet and take Savannah out to dinner. Savannah was in a show at the time and deep in tech week-meaning zero free evenings. With opening night approaching and teaching early morning spin classes, Savannah jokingly suggested that Robert could always sign up for one of her classes... The very next morning, Robert showed up to Savannah’s 7 a.m. spin class. It may have been the worst class Savannah ever taught because she was so nervous and Robert may have been equally terrible at spin since he spent the entirety of the class staring at her. After class, they talked… and Savannah’s first thought was simple and certain: “He has the kindest eyes of any man I’ve ever met.”
The couple went out to breakfast.
It was their first official date and knowing it was opening night of her show, Robert surprised Savannah with a beautiful bouquet of roses. They spent several hours getting to know each other, laughing easily, and feeling a sense of familiarity — as if they had known each other long before that day. Something about the connection felt natural, effortless, and deeply comforting. After breakfast Savannah called her mom and said, “I think I might have found my Prince Charming.” Robert came to Savannah’s show on Valentine’s Day, and from there it only became more clear that they had something special. They found a rare ease with one another — vulnerability without fear, communication without judgment, and a deep sense of safety from the start. Robert loved watching Savannah perform, proudly calling her “my star actress,” and later went on to see her in Guys and Dolls five times. The cast quickly agreed: Robert had set the bar very high for what a true gentleman looks like.
Savannah and Robert's bond grew stronger.
They discussed their values, their dreams and the life they wanted to build. Robert fell in love with not only Savannah but also her sweet baby cat Belle. Savannah fell even deeper for Robert as she watched how nurturing and playful he was with Belle… he was (and is) the purrrrrfect cat dad. Savannah’s dad and stepdad were the ultimate stamp of approval when they both individually declared, “He’s incredible… if you don’t marry him, I will!” Robert’s friends and family all remarked how happy he seemed and how excited about life he had become. His boss stated that "truly, only God could have brought such a beautiful pair together"...
Robert proposed at The St. Regis in Atlanta.
With a little help from his future mother in law, Robert pulled off a romantic surprise proposal at the iconic hotel, beautifully decorated for Christmas. With a ring he designed with her Grandmothers heirloom diamond, Robert got down on one knee and declared his love. Savannah had made him the happiest he had ever been and he knew without a doubt that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. They celebrated with dinner at the brand new Michelin Star restaurant, Atlas, in the private papillon room adorned with hundreds of beautiful butterflies. There was a very unforgettable champagne sabering that you will have to ask the couple to recount for you. It was an evening right out of a fairytale. Savannah truly found her Prince Charming — and Robert found his shining star.
