One of the bride and groom's favorite cities and Vermont's largest city - you can't miss spending some time in beautiful downtown Burlington. Relax by the Lake Champlain waterfront, explore the Church Street Marketplace, and check out the breweries along Pine Street. Burlington is located approximately 40 minutes from the venue, so plan accordingly if you decide to make the day trip!
A quick 20-minute drive from Smugglers Notch Resort, come eat, drink and shop around this quintessential Vermont ski town! Most Stowe attractions can be found on Main Street and Mountain Road.
Did you know that Vermont has more breweries per capita than any other state? The bride and groom's favorite pastime, don't miss the chance to hop around and check out some of Vermont's local breweries. We attached a link that maps out the breweries by location, but feel free to text the bride or groom for some personalized recommendations! Our favorite brewery is Foam in downtown Burlington.
Our venue has a winery on site, and a distillery just 5 minutes down the road! Boyden Valley Winery in Cambridge (https://boydenvalley.com/) Smuggler's Notch Distillery in Jeffersonville (http://www.smugglersnotchdistillery.com/)
Vermont Canoe and Kayak out of Jeffersonville offers tours and regular rentals for navigating your way down the Lamoille River. Their most popular tour - Water and Wine - drops you off at the Boyden Family Winery, which is at the same farm where we'll be getting married!
Rent bikes from Bootleggers in Jeffersonville and do the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT). Along the way are a number of breweries, including Lost Nation, Rock Art Brewery, and Ten Bends Beer. It's super scenic, and (mostly) flat. Alternatively, Lamoille Valley Bike Tours offers a number of e-bike tours you can take advantage of as well!
Winding through the Green Mountains, Smugglers Notch is filled with stunning cliffs, flowing waterfalls, and unique rock formations and offers visitors a wide range of year-round outdoor activities, including mountain biking, swimming, fishing, and a zipline canopy tour.
Vermont is filled with many hiking trails - take your pick from some suggested hikes from the website we've linked here. Sterling Pond is a personal favorite near Smugglers Notch Resort!
Check out the spectacular 40-foot waterfall, rich forest and trail network that draw visitors from around the region. The falls can be accessed via Route 108/Mountain Road (parking is available in two paved pull offs on either side of the road). Swim if you dare - the water is frigid nearly all year round!
Originating in Vermont, come visit and tour the home of Ben & Jerry's!
A cozy haven for local Vermont goodies and gifts. Sip on some cider, wander around the market, then fill up on delicious apple cider donuts.
