Savannah grew up in Northern California and very strongly believes it is "101" not "THE 101" (if you know, you know). When she and Ilya first met, she was half way through her Chemistry degree at Cal Poly, but the real chemistry was clearly happening outside of the classroom. She quickly realized Ilya was no match for her puppy-dog-eyes and used that advantage to add a kitten to their little family unit. Though once they adopted an actual puppy, those skills gained some major competition.

Ilya grew up on the East Coast, and thus, is obligated to agree with his fiancée on all SoCal vs NorCal issues. In exchange, Savannah has to accept that “The City” is always referencing New York City. His reasons for choosing Cal Poly include the Computer Science program, the weather, and the girls (though not necessarily in that order). Unfortunately for him, his time in the sun was short lived, because he followed Savannah back to the east coast for her grad school (at least he got to keep the girl and the degree).

Their paths originally crossed in 2018 when they both volunteered as Week of Welcome (WOW) orientation leaders at Cal Poly. During a training event ice-breaker, they played Two Truths and a Lie (which neither of them won by the way). Think you can do any better? Savannah - The artist I have seen live the most times is Taylor Swift - I have sang the national anthem at a Warriors game - I was captain of the varsity lacrosse team in high school Ilya - I have met Ray Allen - I graduated high school a year early - I have met Steph Curry Their first date took place at Firestone Grill in downtown San Luis Obispo and was followed by a screening of “Halloween” at the Movie Experience Downtown theater. Despite having to listen to Savannah describe the rules of Quidditch over dinner, Ilya still wanted to hold her hand for most of the movie.
