Since Banner Elk/Boone does not have an airport, you have a couple of options for flights:
Asheville Regional Airport (AVL): A 1 hour and 34-minute drive.
Tri-Cities Airport (TRI): A 1 hour and 12-minute drive.
Allegiant Airlines is the most cost-effective option; however, it does not offer direct flights to Tri-Cities Airport.

West Palm Beach to Asheville they only fly Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Fort lauderdale to Asheville they fly all days of the week.
