One time, in Jazz Band, there was a very mediocre saxophone player who wasn't so good at counting rests. However, there was a very good trombone player, who happened to double her part, and always came in at the right time. So instead of doing what a good musician would do and learn to count and hold her own, she did what every good lawyer does. She watched what someone else was doing, and copied that. The trombone player eventually caught on and once the two made eye contact, the rest was history... (Actually before it was history there was a very tedious 8 month period where the saxophone player kept trying to get to trombone player's attention, and the trombone player remained oblivious. But, after that, the rest was history!)
