DJ and I met my senior year of high school. He had already graduated and our mutual friends introduced us at a basketball game. We stayed friends after that day but the timing wasn’t right for either of us. I actually asked him to prom and got DENIED... he was moving his sister back home that weekend, regardless he will never live that one down. Fast forward to 2014 and I get a random snapchat from DJ. We hadn’t talked in a long time but for some reason I answered him. The very next day we hung out and we haven’t gone a day without each other since.

We are doing this whole wedding thing full circle. DJ proposed on June 7, 2019, while we were on Anthem of the Seas. Our second day on the cruise my mom had a dinner planned at the steak house on the ship. Her only rule for us that day was to not drink too much before dinner... well I am Fred & Becky’s daughter so you all know how that went. DJ woke me up from a nap to start getting ready for dinner. He was already fully dressed and ready to go (have a drink at the bar). Looking back now I should have realized how weird he was acting. I walked to meet everyone before dinner at the Schooner Bar. DJ asked if he could show me something. I followed him, to what I would look back on as my favorite spot on the ship. He turned and said a whole lot of things, I wish I could remember but I blacked out from the excitement. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I honestly couldn’t even remember if I said yes, thankfully there’s a video to confirm. I feel so blessed with this chapter in our lives and I cannot wait to marry my bestfriend.
