Maid of Honor
Kami Karras is my bestie for the restie, my soulmate in friendship form, and the person who gives and receives love in every love language like it's an Olympic sport. We met five years ago when we started working together, totally unaware that we’d actually grown up just ten minutes apart. Clearly, the universe took its time figuring it out, but when it finally did, it nailed the assignment. From day one, it felt like we’d known each other forever—and honestly, it still does. Ours is the kind of friendship where we’re constantly checking in to make sure the other is having fun, feeling good, or just feeling seen. We hype each other up like it’s our job (and let’s be real, we’re very good at it). We've made core memories on trips to Bend, Vegas, and even sweet little family visits up north. Speaking of family—our parents are friends now too, and that might be our proudest accomplishment. Kami is the friend who makes everything better just by being there—and I cannot imagine this day, or my life, without her by my side.
Best Man
Christian is my younger brother and we both grew up as Navy brats, hopping from coast to coast—starting in Maryland and New Jersey, then to Hawaii, and eventually landing in Vancouver, Washington. Those years gave us more than just frequent flyer miles; they gave us a bond built on shared adventures, makeshift forts, and a whole lot of sibling banter. Whether we were adjusting to a new school or soaking up the sun on island beaches, he was always right there with me. He’s got a lifelong love for music (particularly his bass guitar) and Star Wars, and after serving in the Navy for six years himself, he’s continued to live life at full volume—attending concerts, cracking jokes, and showing up for the people he cares about. Christian now lives in Florida near our mom in Parrish. I couldn’t ask for a better best man—he’s loyal, hilarious, and independent.
Bridesmaid
Rachel Egan is, without a doubt, the best thing I’ve ever found on Craigslist—and that’s saying a lot, because I’ve found some true gems (human and otherwise). She first reached out to me in August of 2018 with a message that practically read like a rom-com meet-cute and we lived together for four and a half years. Now we live just a few blocks apart, continuing the dream. Her dog is literally my dog’s only friend, and she’s my forever dance floor buddy for Holocene nights, early 2000s bangers, and power hours. Despite the vast two-year age difference (I’m older and wiser, obviously), we are closer than close—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s a photo of Rachel lying in a bed of rose petals between two towel swans in the honeymoon suite we were accidentally upgraded to in Belize. Meant to be? The towel swans sure thought so.
Groomsman
Will and I have been friends since my freshman year of high school in Vancouver, Washington, back when our weekends were dominated by epic LAN parties and way too much junk food. Through all the late-night gaming sessions, inside jokes, and years of friendship, Will has always been someone I could count on—whether for a laugh or a thoughtful conversation that runs deeper than expected. He's a colorful character in the best way possible—equal parts hilarious, curious, and reflective. Despite moving back and forth between Texas and Vancouver (twice!), he and his awesome wife Monica are now back in the PNW for good. I’m lucky to have had him by my side through so many stages of life, and I’m honored to have him standing with me on such a meaningful day.
Bridesmaid
Nora is my honeybody (iykyk). We started living together in the big, fun Alberta house in 2017, and she had me won over almost immediately with her incredible baked goods and her endlessly fun-loving heart. That same summer, we road-tripped to Bumbershoot together, and between the music, laughter, and the best peach either of us has ever had—a lifelong friendship was born. Since then, we’ve been through everything together—from bad dates and worse boyfriends to the sweet early days of falling in love with our forever people. One thing I’ll always appreciate about Nora is how she wasn’t afraid to tell me the truth when she didn’t like someone I was dating (and spoiler: she was so right—he sucked). Which makes it all the more meaningful that she’s a true fan of the person I’m marrying now. We’ve shared so many beautiful chapters, but getting to walk side by side as we both found our person has been something truly special. Nora set the highest bar with her own wedding—the most joyful, vibrant, love-filled celebration—and I’m beyond excited for her to help bring that same magic to mine. She’s the kind of friend who makes your life brighter just by being in it—and I’m so lucky to have her in mine.
Groomsman
Phil and I go way back to our high school days, when most of our free time was spent at LAN parties or making ridiculous (but legendary) amateur comedy films. Our creative chaos eventually took us to Pullman, Washington, where we were roommates for two years while attending WSU. From all-night editing sessions to college life adventures, Phil’s been a constant source of laughs, loyalty, and genuinely great memories. I had the honor of standing by his side when he married his amazing wife Jessica, and since then, he’s lived everywhere from Alaska to Portland, Oregon—where he and Jessica are now happily settled. These days, we still get together to play Magic: The Gathering and catch up on life. Phil is sharp, funny, and endlessly creative, and I’m grateful to have him as both a friend and a groomsman.
Officiant
Darcy is our incredible officiant, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her standing with us on such a special day. She’s hilarious, kind, and a truly amazing friend to both of us. We play games together at least once a month, and every so often, we’re lucky enough to have what we lovingly call a “Darcy Week”—when we happen to see her 3 or 4 times in the same week, and everything just feels a little brighter because of it. Darcy Weeks are the best weeks. She’s a total badass and an inspiration in every way. She’s built an incredibly successful career, she travels with the kind of fearless curiosity that makes us both proud and a little jealous, and she brings so much heart into everything she does. Her husband Sam is just as wonderful—we’ve had some truly great double dates full of laughter, games, and easy friendship. Darcy has this rare ability to make every space feel warmer and every moment feel more meaningful. We can’t think of anyone better to help us tie the knot, and we feel so lucky to have her as such an important part of our wedding day—and our lives.
Flower Girl
Meet Winnie, our delightful 8-year-old niece and flower girl! Winnie is beyond excited to be part of the big day, and we couldn’t imagine anyone better to lead the way with petals and charm. She’s an animal lover through and through, has a serious sweet tooth, and lately, she’s been leveling up her skills as a Mario Party champ. Get ready for cuteness overload!
Ring Bearer
This is Tommy, our curious, creative 6-year-old nephew and one half of our ring bearer duo (or as he prefers—ring security). Tommy is a big fan of Pokémon, loves building intricate Lego creations, and is always asking smart questions about how the world works. He’s got a top-tier cheesy grin, so keep an eye out for him in the photos!
Ring Bearer
And here’s Elton, our incredibly sweet and thoughtful 4-year-old nephew—and the other half of our ring security team. Elton is known at daycare for being an absolute gem with other kids, and we couldn’t agree more. He’s big into building (especially epic marble runs with his auntie!), and he’s so excited to be learning how to read. Get ready for some serious heart-melting.
Mother of the Bride
My mom is my best friend and has been for as long as I can remember. When I was little, my dad would spend half the year fishing in Alaska, which meant months of just me and my mom—ladies’ nights every night. We filled those months with love, laughter, and an unshakable bond that has only grown stronger with time. We’re like Rory and Lorelai, but even better! She’s the first person I call almost every day, the one I turn to for advice, celebration, comfort, or just a quick chat while walking the dog. She’s my biggest cheerleader, my sounding board, and my safe place. She’s incredibly selfless, always putting others first, and she brings so much joy and warmth into every room she walks into. She has a gift for making people feel welcome and cared for, whether she’s hosting a holiday gathering, cheering from the sidelines, or just showing up when someone needs her most. She raised three amazing kids (if I do say so myself), and now she’s a super-grandma—the kind who makes scavenger hunts, always has fruit snacks available, and sacrifices entire rooms of her house to the chaos of play time. I can’t wait to see her love and magic passed down to my future kids someday. She is, simply, the best person I know—kind, fun, generous, strong, thoughtful, and always there when it matters most. I am so lucky she’s my mom, and even luckier that she’s one of my closest friends. Having her by my side on this day means the absolute world to me.
Mother of the Groom
My mom, Linda, is one of the biggest influences in my life—especially when it comes to my love of movies and travel. We catch up every few weeks to talk about life, stories, and whatever films we've seen lately. She grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey with her twin sister Laura, older sister Debbie, and younger brother Joe. After joining the Navy as an officer, she served with dedication for 17 years before retiring in Hawaii as a Lieutenant Commander. She then began her new chapter as a high school science teacher—a role she approached with the same passion and energy she brought to everything else. Now living in Parrish, Florida with her husband Brian, she still keeps very busy, occasionally substitute teaching and frequently traveling the world. This year alone, she’s checked off both New Zealand and Australia from her travel list. She's always been a source of curiosity, strength, and wisdom in my life, and I'm so grateful to have her by my side for such an important day.
Father of the Bride
My dad is one of the most incredible people I know, and I’m endlessly proud to be his daughter. He paid his way through school to become an oceanographer and has had a life full of grit and adventure—from harvesting geoducks in the Puget Sound to fishing the wild seas of Alaska. He’s always been humble about it, but his story is nothing short of remarkable. Seriously, ask him about it! He's also the undisputed Craigslist king—a master of finding the most obscure, incredible deals, often on things I didn’t even know I needed. He’s the one who taught me the art of frugality, a value I’ve sometimes questioned (especially while driving across town for a “great deal”), but have deeply benefited from in the long run. He’s endlessly handy and helped me take my fixer-upper house from a total mess to something beautiful. There’s not a corner of that place he hasn’t touched with his tools, his time, or his thoughtful solutions. In recent years, he’s faced some serious health scares, culminating in a life-threatening surgery in March 2024. For a time, I was truly terrified he wouldn’t be here to walk me down the aisle. I still tear up thinking about that possibility. But he is here—and he will be walking me down the aisle, dancing with me at the reception, and standing by my side on one of the most important days of my life. I am so grateful for his strength, his generosity, his resourcefulness, and his deep, steady love. Having him with me on this day means everything.
Father of the Groom
My dad, Rick, and I share a love for photography, sci-fi movies, and exploring the great outdoors—especially in national parks. He grew up as an Army brat alongside his older sister Marci and brother Bill, moving frequently but always staying curious about the world. After joining the Navy as an officer, he went on to serve as a special agent with NCIS for 30 years. During my college years, we worked side by side filming weddings. He now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife Connie and their dog Ollie, and spends much of his time doing what he loves most: capturing stunning landscapes and turning them into beautifully edited photos. Whether he’s hiking through a canyon or talking about the latest sci-fi film, he’s always been a source of inspiration, adventure, and encouragement in my life. I'm incredibly proud to have him with me on this special day.
