Hamburg is Germany's second largest city and rather well connected. Here are our recomendations on how to travel there: Coming to Hamburg from Dubai: 1. Direct flights: Emirates Airlines offers two daily direct flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Hamburg Airport (HAM) with a flight duration of ~7 hours 2. Connecting flights: several carriers connect Dubai to Hamburg with a layover, for instance Lufthansa via Frankfurt or Turkish Airlines via Istanbul, often at a lower cost than Emirates but at longer travel times Coming to Hamburg from Ukraine: 1. Direct flights from in Warsaw (WAW), Poland, with LOT Polish Airlines 2. Indirect flights from Kraków (KRK), Poland, with LOT Polish Airlines or Eurowings 3. Direct bus "Flixbus" from Lviv to Krakow but travel times can vary widely from 20 to 30 hours, very much depending on delays at border crossing 4. Train connection Lviv-Przemyśl-Berlin-Hamburg seems possible but we have no first-hand experience with this

Travel Note

Taxis, Uber, public transport and other notes of relevance

Taxis are usually conveniently close by in the city, you can call for instance Hansa-Taxi on +49 40 211 211 for pick-ups. UBER also works and will usually connect you to a regular taxi. Public transport in Hamburg is well established with metro, S-Bahn and buses. You can also explore the city by renting bikes or e-scooters. Lastly, we strongly advise to have cash (Euros) with you, as places that only take cash are still frequent.
