The term Gurdwara means "the door" to the Guru. It is a place where the Guru Granth Sahib, our holy scripture, is present. It is open to everyone regardles of age, sex, caste, or creed and as the center for congregatIonal worship of Sikhi. The following etiquette should be observed in the Gurdwara. Before entering the hall please take off your shoes and cover your head. Bow your head in front of the Guru Granth Sahib and stand up during Ardaas (prayer to God). When offered "prasad" at the end of the service accept with both hands together.
