Flight
International guests will generally fly into and out of Cairo International Airport (CAI) or Sphinx International Airport (SPX).
Travel Note
For convenience, we recommend staying in Maadi, Garden City, or Zamalek. Boats to the venue will depart from Maadi, and these neighborhoods are among the most convenient and comfortable areas for guests visiting Cairo. If you would like hotel recommendations, please reach out to Sarah or Tawfek.
Travel Note
All guests traveling from the US, UK, EU, and Canada will require a tourist visa to enter Egypt. How to get it: You can purchase your visa sticker at the bank kiosks immediately upon landing at Cairo International Airport (CAI) for $30 USD. Please bring exact change in crisp USD cash, as the kiosks generally do not accept credit cards. A Note on Recent Changes: Egypt recently announced a move toward visa-free entry for our nationalities in 2026. While this is rolling out, some travelers are still being charged the $30 fee at the border. We recommend having the cash ready just in case! Friendly reminder: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond October 2026. If you have any questions, please ask Sarah or Tawfek!
Travel Note
Rideshare (Recommended): We highly recommend using Uber or Careem (the local version of Uber). It is the safest and most reliable way to navigate Cairo, as it provides fixed pricing and eliminates the need to haggle with taxi drivers. Rental Cars: We generally advise against renting a car in Cairo. Traffic is legendary and local driving styles can be intense for those unfamiliar with the city. Private Transfers: For a stress-free arrival, many hotels offer private shuttles.
