Wedding Party

We are so honored to have our closest friends stand with us as they witness our union on our special day!

Esther Kim

Maid of Honor

Esther and I first met during our freshman year at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. She's seen me in my only-child-syndrome days to growing in my walk with Jesus and maturity as a woman (hopefully). From college years to adulthood of navigating life, embarrassing life choices, our insecurities and gossip, we have grown together in deepening our relationship with Jesus, speaking identity into each other, and sharpening each other as iron sharpens iron. She was with me at my mother's funeral in college and has always been a voice of encouragement. She is a gifted writer and her words have a way of lifting those around her. Her gentle spirit and warmth allow people to feel safe and seen. Esther is a creative and an artist and just moved to Dallas, TX with her husband and three kids!

Anna Choi

Bridesmaid

Anna was an answer to my prayers while living in Seoul, Korea. Although active and involved at church, I didn't quite have many girlfriends I could call or hangout with. God answered my prayers in my loneliness! We bonded over music (she is an incredible singer), and sometimes would talk on the phone for up to four hours! She is one of the most caring and empathetic friends I know, and has a deep empathy and heart for animals in a way most people don't. She is my voice of reason when my feelings sway. Few of my favorite memories with Anna is serving together on our missions trip in General Santos, Philippines, and traveling to Thailand and Jeonju together. And I love it when she makes me food! Anna is adventurous, fun, a dog lover, and a bird mom to Juju and Elsa.

Jungmin Ha

Bridesmaid

Jungmin came into my life when I was living in Seoul, Korea. I first met her in the bathroom at my church during a prayer event and I remember thinking, "Wow, she's so cool in a mysterious way... I want to be her friend!" I can recall my first times hanging out with Jungmin as 'magical,' like when you're on a first date (and you like the person). Sharing and just encouraging one another, hearing each other's testimonies and just feeling really filled, loved and encouraged... At the end of our first friend date, I remember us walking out holding hands. (It's a Korean thing!!! LOLOLS). Jungmin is a prayer warrior, a helper, an amazing encourager and she celebrates the small and big victories in everyones' lives. *To support her small business: @fut_clothing

Anna Cheng

Bridesmaid

Anna and I first connected at our church in Chicago, Hebron. At the time, she was a college student at Hope College. Although she is a few years younger, she carries depth, wisdom and maturity that is beyond her years. Her experiences in living and growing up in Ethiopia and Kenya has grown in her a passion to work in international relations. Although our friendship was always "long distance," I am so thankful that we have been able to keep our relationship through video and phone calls and messages. Her encouragements and wisdom has played such a supportive role in my life. Anna is creative, sweet, and very thoughtful. She and her husband Ben live in Philly and have a dog son named, Kaffa which means coffee in Amharic!

Luna Oh

Bridesmaid

I first met Luna through Daisy, as we were on our way to our church retreat in Seoul, Korea. Her Korean name is Seong-Gyong, which means bible. It wasn't long before I learned that Luna is probably one of my funniest (and most blunt) friend! Wherever Luna goes, people laugh. She enjoys hosting with her husband and has a way of making people feel seen, welcomed and included. My favorite memories with Luna are from when we traveled to Thailand, and watching movies over snacks and talking at her studio apartment in Hongdae. She lives in Korea and is married to a Korean guy with a British accent who is doing the videography at our wedding! *To support her and her husband's bible publication and bible-inspired goods: @gdislv.official

Sarah H. Kim

Bride

In Johnny's words: Sarah is deeply caring, compassionate and conscientious, as she loves being intentional with her loved ones. Sarah is a gifted creative, amazing photographer, talented musician, and passionate about serving the broken. She has helped Johnny see shapes, colors and beauty in things that he would often overlook. This speaks of the heart that Sarah has for those who are hurting and often overlooked, as she deeply empathizes for those that are marginalized. Sarah loves her iced lattes, Korean dramas, and is a Belieber, with a splash of Olivia and Taylor. She brings out Johnny's silly side and is a joy to be around. Her biggest pet peeve of Johnny is that he drives like an LA-person and forgets to signal every now and then. To support her side hustle: @sozolifecollective

Johnny Park

Groom

In Sarah's words: Johnny is someone who makes it easy to approach and talk to (although it was months later before he made me laugh, and I discovered that he was actually a very funny and goofy person). Something I admire about Johnny is that he meets everyone wherever they are in their walk of life, and is their biggest cheerleader and encourager. Johnny is goofy (now that I've come to learn), loves his chips, his morning drip coffee and now oat-milk-simple-syrup-iced-latte (learned from me). I also turned him into a plant dad. I like when he teaches me fitness and his fun dance moves. I also love when he teaches me bible! His biggest peeve is when I don't pay attention to what street I'm driving on. Why should I when I have you?! ;P

Truman Cho

Best Man

The first time I met Truman, it was at OKC in the Junior High Room, and he said, "Hi, I'm Truman Cho, Parks Jr High President." I was like, "who is this dude?!" But of course over the summer, and the next 33 years, he has become one of my closest friends, and I'm honored to have him as my Best Man! Truman is a connector of people. He can engage in any type of conversation and makes everyone around him feel comfortable and at ease. He loves his double IPA's, jujitsu, and long-winded email updates to make sure all the friends are staying in touch. Truman stood by my side as a pallbearer for Helen's funeral and I am so proud to have him stand next to me now as my Best Man. You can find Truman with his wife Minhee, and son TJ in the NYC.

Sam Kim

Groomsman

Samuel S. Kim! Sam and I first became friends in the summer of 1988 through OKC. We hit it off instantly and no one can make me laugh and bring it out the crazy in me like Sam can. Sam's home became all of our homes and it spoke of the graciousness and openness that Sam exudes. Even Sam's grandma (RIP Ninja) looked after us and she would constantly remind me to hurry up and get married before she died (woops). Sam and I went through High School together, church, and we also started ministry together at OKC. He has a deep love for God's Kingdom, his family, USC football and four-legged canines. You can find Sam faithfully serving our God in Singapore with his wife Annie and his five children, and looking for ways to find himself at a local King Taco whenever he's back in the States.

Inguk Marcus Choi

Groomsman

Inguk the chingoo! A little known fact: before Inguk rose to fame as President George Washington in Hamilton, he and I were in a no-hit wonder band in Fullerton called the Flying Mandoos. It helped pave the way to where he is now! Inguk is the life of the party. He loves people and he loves to stand up for what is right and for the marginalized. His gregariousness and love for life makes you feel like you've known him forever. He's also so grounded, and even with all the success he's had in his life, he's exactly the same, and treats everyone with respect and consideration. You can find Inguk looking for the perfect bottle of Bourbon, camping across America, and finding the best eats at whatever city his tour takes him too. Oh and ask him about his Kpop days with Voice :)

Taeho Kim

Groomsman

Taeho was one of the first friends I met in Fullerton, along with John Won. We both lived in the same neighborhood (Westbluff!) and met while playing basketball. Taeho is the friend that all of our parents loved the most! My parents would have pancakes ready for him and Sam whenever they would pick me up, and I would hear them eating, talking and laughing, along with my sister, while no one would bother to wake me up! Tae is one of the most genuine, giving and easy-going person that you'll ever meet! He will literally do everything in his power to make you feel comfortable and at home. You can find Tae and his wife Jane with his twins, drinking some fine vino, and hosting his family and friends with amazing food and drinks. Don't forget to ask him about his healthiest baby award!

John Won

Groomsman

JOHN WON! You can hear John Won coming a mile away! But he is also so present in the small, behind-the-scenes moments of life, as he is often called upon for advice, guidance and counsel. I met John Won and Tae at the same time, while hooping at the renowned courts at Westbluff in Fullerton. Our two families have been through so much, and have been there for one another. John's voice has provided a soundtrack for my sister's journey and he is forever family. JDub is an amazing storyteller, gifted worship leader, loyal friend, and has a deadly 3-point shot from the top of the key. Rumor has it that him, Tae and Juicedogg were once in a hip hop dance crew, along with DJ Alfred Rhee. You can find John Won in the East Bay with his wife Blenda and two kids.

Isaac William Pak

Ring Bearer

Isaac loves to laugh, loves his Legos, especially his Star Wars ones, and learning about Dinosaurs and animals. He's ready to crush 3rd grade, can speak a little Spanish and keeps everyone smiling with his infectious spirit. Isaac is a miracle baby and his life has been a gift to all of us around him. He is the youngest of three, with two amazing older sisters, and the best dad. His mom is smiling down upon him from heaven, and she's probably talking everyone's ear off on how wonderful her kids are. Ikey loves his Uncle and enjoys playing with him with his race cars, Lego pieces and fighting the Dark Side with him. Isaac is full of life and joy and is a living and breathing example of God's faithfulness, grace and hope. He's ready to shine and do his duties as the the ring bearer!

Chanjoon Chon

Ring Security

He loves his Sarah eemo very much and loves it when she brings him munchies and surprises. Chanjoon loves his toys and play time, doing crafts, legos and puzzles. He thinks that his dad is hilarious and laughs at most things his pops does. If you want to win his heart, surprise him with french fries, chocolate and Korean food. He loves Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokemon. His favorite moments are when he gets to see his family, friends, and auntie Sarah. At this time, he is trying to get over his fears of big doggoes, but softens up begins to slowly and safely pet as is encouraged to.

Moses Ha

Ring Escort

Moses was born the cutest baby at Good Samaritan hospital in 2019 to parents Jungmin Ha (Bridesmaid) and Peter Ha. He recently discovered that he really loves to swim, and when he sees dogs, he lights up and eyes sparkle and becomes excited. His favorite foods he will battle you for is chicken and blackberries, and Bbong Bbong and Elmo are his go-to shows. So far he has lived a long and happy two years of life so he is not yet afraid of anything. He is Moses, and he will be one to lead the next generation of kiddies for his time!

Byung Kook Kim

Father of the Bride

Appa is an outgoing people person, and only in my recent adult years did I discover that he is very creative and that is where I get my creative side from :) Growing up and watching my dad actively serve the people around him, it was very important for me to find a life partner who also carries the same heart to serve others. During my years away at college, my dad would always mail me HUGE boxes filled with geem, Korean snacks and foods. He also would never forget to mail me a box of chocolate and card for Valentine's Day. When I moved to Korea, he would always send me big boxes filled with my favorite American snacks. His secret talent that no one knows is writing poems and short stories-where I think I get my deep melancholy side but knack for songwriting :)

Sinae Kim

Mother of the Bride

My stepmom came into my family's life shortly after my mom's passing. It's never easy to accept a new parent into your life (no matter your age or time), but I see how God's fingerprints, love and grace is all over the union of my now-parents. I love my stepmom and honored to have her with me on my special day. My stepmom has a playful spirit, gracious and fun to be around. Her gentle-spirit and easygoing nature make her approachable, and she enjoys cooking and baking. She loves binge-watching her favorite tv shows. Ask her about her favorite recipes, foods and about her dog sons Cookie and Nikki. ;)

Hyang Ok Kim - In Memory Of

Mother of the Bride

Mom was reserved, shy, timid, but came alive and chatty in small group settings. She was calm, collected, and her easygoing and soft spirit made it easy for people to take a quick liking to her. Although she lost her battle on earth to cancer in 2006, her spirit was undefeated as she held onto Psalm 118:17: "I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done." I observed in her last days as she would write scripture word for word from Genesis in her notebook. Although she was weak and weary, I watched behind closed doors how she sang worship and exalted Jesus above her cancer. Although I don't get to have my growing 'mother-daughter' relationship with her, her legacy and strength lives on and continues, and everyone who comes to know me gets a glimpse of my sweet mother :)

Helen Park Pak - In Memory Of

Sister

Helen was always the life of the party! She filled the room with her laughter, gregarious spirit and warm smile. And even though she's not with us, her presence is felt and remembered! Helen would make friends everywhere and loved her family and friends so much. Johnny's friends considered her as their older sister, and probably liked her more than they like Johnny :) She was so proud of her three kids and her marriage with Eugene was such a great model, especially for Johnny. She is so dearly missed but her memory and legacy is as strong as ever. She probably thinks this wedding is a celebration of her gaining the most amazing sister in Sarah, and she is smiling from ear-to-ear, to see that Johnny has found the love of his life. We miss you and love you Helen!

Jin Young Park

Father of the Groom

He is the original JYP! Dad loves his grandkids, golf, and being active at his church. He almost always asks "Where's Sarah?" before even saying hi to his son. He is a man who lives faithfully and quietly for the Lord and is quick to smile and laugh, as his heart is full of joy and grace. He has been a great example of a loving and godly husband, following the example of Christ. I love catching my dad and mom laughing and joking together, as they continue to live in His presence and seek to serve others, and one another. I'm so proud to be his son and he is so excited and proud to be Sarah's father-in-law!

Grace Young Ja Park

Mother of the Groom

Mom is a people-person, loves to talk, and enjoys being around others (hmm... sounds like Helen and Johnny). She loves talking to Johnny's and Helen's friends, and she considers all of them like her own children. She is an amazing cook, especially her Korean chicken wings and galbee-jeem. She loves her grandkids, golfing together with dad, and commenting on how Johnny dresses too casually when giving a sermon. She is a devoted follower of Christ and is a prayer warrior. I have come home many nights to seeing her praying diligently for our family and friends. She has experienced much joy and sorrow, but also remains so consistent and steadfast. She can finally say her son will be married and she can't wait to have Sarah as a daughter!
