Freedom Park
Freedom Park is a 98-acre park in Charlotte, North Carolina. Located at 1900 East Boulevard, between Charlotte's historic Dilworth and Myers Park neighborhoods, the park is centered on a 7-acre lake, and is about 3 miles from the heart of Charlotte's downtown area
Charlotte Rail Trail
The 3.5-mile trail connects communities and knits together neighborhoods from Sedgefield, Southside Park, Brookhill, Dilworth, Wilmore, and South End to Uptown, but it belongs to everyone in the Queen City. The Rail Trail is the place to discover cafés and bars, explore galleries, see artists at work, stumble upon an impromptu concert, stroll with your family, or relax on a bench and watch the city come alive around you. The walkway alongside the Blue Line already exists, but it could be so much more. With the help of passionate supporters, today’s trail will be transformed into a network of gardens, public art, unique spaces and activities, and an endless string of places to sit, eat and play. The hardest part of building a trail—acquiring the land—is already done, and a foundation has been laid. Let’s turn it into something extraordinary.
Romare Bearden Park
Romare Bearden Park is a 5.4-acre public park located at 300 S. Church Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Named for Charlotte-born artist Romare Bearden, it opened in late August 2013. It is across the street from Truist Field, the home of the International League's Charlotte Knights.

We want to point out that this is a great space to walk around and check out. Honestly, you don't have to participate or take a swimsuit for the white water rafting/activities. Even though if you want to, you could! This location provides accessibility to a variety of the best recreational activities within the southeastern United States, including the Olympic Training Center for whitewater and flatwater paddling, climbing, running, cycling, hiking, fishing, and more. Whitewater offers accommodations, instruction, guiding services, equipment, and various hospitality services to support engagement in each region. Furthermore, Whitewater programs numerous festivals, events, and competitions on a recurring basis centered around these active pursuits.
