In 2010, I watched Sarah get struck by a minivan in the crosswalk at Horizon Middle School. Like a champ, she walked it off. Sarah, being much smarter than I am, took a lot of AP courses throughout middle and high school, resulting in minimal interaction between us. Finally, during our freshman year at NDSU, I found the courage to send Sarah a friend request on Instagram. She ignored it for three years. Eventually, Sarah and I crossed paths in college through different extra curriculars. Then finally after another year of playing hard to get, Sarah asked "Hey, did we go to high school together?" Still playing hard to get, she waited another year before finally letting me take her on a date and the rest is history.
