We'd highly recommend a visit to the Capitol if you haven't already been - it's right across the street from our hotel and free to visit! You can walk around a bit on your own, but there are also scheduled 45 minute tours available at the following times: Mon-Sat (9, 10, 11, 1, 2 and 3pm) or Sun (1, 2 and 3 pm). Tours depart from the Information Desk on the ground floor of the Capitol Rotunda
State Street starts at the Capitol and goes towards UW's campus. It has a lot of fun shops and restaurants to check out.
The Farmers' Market runs on Saturday mornings from 6:15 am to 1:45 pm. It covers the entire block of the Capitol and is a must see while in Madison! Our top recommendation would be some cheese bread from Stella's :)
Known for their delicious cheese curds. A great place to stop for a drink between the ceremony and cocktail hour!
Eno Vino is a really fun spot for tapas and drinks. It has an amazing view of the Capitol with floor to ceiling windows. Another great spot for a drink during the down time!
Upscale Irish pub - lots of craft beers and great food!
One of Sarah's favorite restaurants in Madison. It gets busy so you may need a reservation on the weekend. Highly recommend getting the Bibimbap or the Graze Burger!
Pizza restaurant with an industrial feel. They also have fun drinks!
Delicious spot for brunch on Saturday or Sunday
Another great spot for brunch!
A couple blocks from the hotel, the Monona Terrace has cool architecture and a great view of Lake Monona
Located on Lake Mendota, the Union is a Madison favorite among college students. While they likely won't have their iconic chairs out on the balcony yet, it's still a fun place to visit and grab a drink or bite to eat (though it is quite a walk from the hotel). Would highly recommend getting some Babcock ice cream at the Daily Scoop!
Located right on the Capitol square, this museum is free and would be a cool spot to check out in between the ceremony and reception. Hours are Tues-Sat (10am-5pm) and Sun (12-5pm)
