Things To Do

If in doubt, just take a walk downtown and explore :)
Scott's Place (THE BEST BURGERS)

Scott's Place (THE BEST BURGERS)

85 Elm St, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 236-8751

Scott's Place is the absolute hidden gem of Camden. It has long been a staple of the Brenninkmeyer family diet. If you find yourself hungry or bored, 10/10 recommend getting a burger from Scott's Place.

River Ducks Ice Cream

River Ducks Ice Cream

19 Mechanic Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 322-7129

Tucked behind the Lord Camden Inn, stop by River Ducks Ice Cream to eat delicious sundaes and soft serve. Feed the ducks nearby and enjoy your dessert (or breakfast - we don't judge) while walking around downtown Camden.

Owl & Turtle Bookshop Café

Owl & Turtle Bookshop Café

33 Bay View Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 230-7335

Owned and operated by family friends, Craig and Maggie, Owl and Turtle has been a family go-to for years. Stop in for a drink, a snack, or a book and enjoy one of our favorite local spots.

Hike Mount Battie!

Hike Mount Battie!

Mount Battie Trail, Camden, ME 04843

Mount Battie offers one of the best views of Camden's Harbor. If you just want to see the view, you can drive up the mountain. It costs around $6/person in your car. You can also walk (for free) and take the main road up (it's a little over a mile) or you can take the natural hike up (it's closer to 3 miles). Either the way, the view from the top is definitely worth it :)

Beech Hill Preserve Trail Head

Beech Hill Preserve Trail Head

76 Rockville Street, Rockport, ME 04856

Beech Hill Preserve is in Rockport, the neighboring town to Camden. This two mile hike takes you through a large blueberry hill all the way to a Norwegian sod-roofed hut that overlooks the water in the distance!

Hike Maiden Cliff!

Hike Maiden Cliff!

Maiden Cliff Trailhead, 321-415 Turnpike Dr, Camden, ME 04843

Hike one mile (and ascend around 800 feet), to take in some breathtaking views of nearby Megunticook Lake. The entrance to this hike is about a 7 minute drive from Downtown Camden. It is a slightly more difficult hike with streams, slippery spots, and some steep inclines, but it is definitely worth the gorgeous view from the top. If you see a large white cross nestled against a hillside, you're looking up at Maiden Cliff! Be careful walking around the ledges that make up the scenic overlook.

The Smiling Cow

The Smiling Cow

41 Main Street, Camden, ME 04843
, (207) 236-3351

The perfect gift shop to stop by and grab whatever small trinkets and things you might want to remember your trip to Camden, Maine!
