See where we had our first hike ever together and got engaged! Recoil Peak in the Painted Hills is an easy 3-mile hike close to downtown. It can be rocky so wear good shoes! Free parking at trailhead.
Any hike in Sabino Canyon is beautiful and we find ourselves going here regularly. If you're up for a moderate to hard challenge, take the 7-9 mile hike out to famous Seven Falls! This time of year there should be water flowing! Not wanting to hike? They have an awesome tram that can take you to see some of the beautiful spots in Sabino. $8 parking fee. Free parking if you have a National Park Pass.
Want to venture out a little further? Check out our summer escape Mt. Lemmon. Take the scenic 60 mile drive up to 9,000 ft. We recommend stopping at Windy Point on the way and grabbing lunch in Summerhaven at Beyond Bread. Bring a jacket though! It's usually 20-30 degrees cooler than Tucson.
Want a quick workout, great view, and to be in nature but don't want to deal with rocky trails? Tumamoc Hill is for you! Close to downtown, this 3-mile paved path will have your legs burning when you get to the top! The view along the way is well worth it! Especially if you time it right with sunset or sunrise.
Don't want to hike but want to see what the Sonoran Desert is all about? Check out the #1 museum in the US! It is not your typical indoor museum. It is mostly outdoors and gives zoo energy more than museum.
Our local artisan market that runs every Saturday & Sunday from 10-3. We love walking up here and seeing what all the vendors are slingin’! We usually follow it up with a drink and app at Reforma or Union. If you’re staying at the Homewood Suites, you are in luck! This is right next door!
Our favorite spot for lunch or breakfast! Don't forget to get a sweet treat to go!
Awesome patio usually has live music during brunch and dinner!
Indulge in some local beers on their patio. Don't forget to grab some tacos too!
Want to see where the magic started?? Come grab a drink at our favorite beer garden which happens to be where we had our first date! Need something more than a drink? Ciao Down has AMAZING wood fired pizza next door that they will bring to you in the garden. We love the "Snake Bite" pizza!
Watch the game, grab some good food & a drink, or go play some pickle ball!
This is where we get our Detroit style pizza fix. We love the "Aviator" or "Spicy Hawaiian" (swap the ham for pepperoni)!
Want a more hip place to grab a drink? Check out our favorite roof top bar inside the Graduate Hotel. Awesome views of Tucson & U of A!
Oldest Mexican restaurant in the US! You'll want to make a reservation ahead of time to ensure you get a table.
Modern Mexican with great views of Tucson. Don’t forget to stroll around the beautiful La Encantada and do a little shopping. Sarah loves the carna asada bowl and Sean loves the chimichanga!
Nothing fancy about this place. Just some great Mexican! Make sure you go to this specific location. Not all Guadalajara's are created equal!
