To better ensure the safety of all guests, we'd love for folks (especially those who are traveling) to use N95-quality masks while in crowded spaces for at least 3 days leading up to the wedding. Additionally, we recommend getting your annual COVID vaccine ideally at least 2 weeks beforehand. Thank you!
Because San Francisco has such a diversity of neighborhoods and things to do, most folks will want to stay in different places so we have not booked a block of hotels. SF is also a very navigable city and you can easily get to all the different neighborhoods by walking, biking, or taking public transit. Most big hotel chains will be in Union Square, Soma, and Fisherman's Wharf which are a quick 20 min car ride to the Presidio and wedding venue. You can also check out some great options on VRBO as well as some locally owned bed & breakfasts to explore other areas.
Parking can be very difficult, so we would actually recommend not renting a car. San Francisco is a very accessible and geographically small city. You can easily walk, bike, or take transit pretty much anywhere throughout the city and visit all the amazingly diverse neighborhoods. Car hailing services are also readily available at all times for getting to and from the wedding venue.
There is a parking lot available for wedding guests at the venue.
The short ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting) and the reception will be indoors with outdoor spaces available throughout the night.
Thanks to the modulating power of the Pacific, San Francisco summers typically peak later than in other regions of the US. Weather in mid-August will likely be warm and sunny in the day, with a high in the low 70's, and cooler in the evenings like in the high 50's. We recommend bringing layers whenever you're in the city. Lots of restaurants with outdoor tables also have heat lamps at night.
We welcome folks to bring their entire family, kids included. There will be kids from 6-18 years old as part of our family and there will definitely be things for kids to do and be entertained by. We will also have quiet spaces available if families may need to take a break with little ones.
The vibe will be cocktail dress, but please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. (And if you're looking for a new fit for the occasion, as always, we encourage folks to buy secondhand. Some great resources are The RealReal, ThredUp, and of course, your local Buy Nothing communities and consignment and thrift stores!)
Your attendance is the greatest gift of all! 😺 If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 1711 Lake St, Apt #5, San Francisco, CA 94121. A wedding card box will also be at our reception. We will also have a table featuring some of our favorite places to donate to.
The venue will be open at 4pm, one hour ahead of our ceremony time at 5pm. We recommend arriving at the venue at least 30 minutes ahead of time to ensure you have enough time to get situated, find parking if need be, and find a seat.
The ceremony will be held outdoors at the eucalyptus grove near the Presidio Chapel. Please use the Presidio Chapel address (130 Fisher Loop, San Francisco, CA 94129) when navigating to the ceremony. The reception will take place at the Golden Gate Club a short walk from the ceremony site. A golf cart will be available for folks with mobility issues to get to the reception venue.
Cocktail hour after the ceremony will feature an array of appetizers. Dinner will be buffet style with a wide variety of American-style cuisine options for folks to choose from. Later in the night, there will be dessert as well as a late-night snack featuring our favorite local Filipino fusion restaurant. There will be meat, vegetarian, vegan, and nut-free options available for each meal / snack. Please let us know when you RSVP if you have any other specific dietary preferences or requests!
We would like to acknowledge that the city we've built our lives on for the past 11 years is the traditional, unceded territory of the Ramaytush Ohlone peoples of the San Francisco Peninsula. The Ohlone peoples lived here long before California was Spain, Mexico, or the United States. They have lived in harmony with nature for millennia and continue to work to steward and heal the land we all depend on to this day. The process of colonization is ongoing and still adversely affects Indigenous people from the Bay Area and all over the world. We encourage you to learn more at https://www.ramaytush.org and to research the effects of colonization on Indigenous people in your own area.
