Question

What is the Dress Code?

Answer

We are having a beach wedding, so we want everyone to be comfortable in their attire. We recommend wearing breathable and lightweight fabrics and avoid anything overly formal or form fitting. Beach Chic: Flowy dresses and separates, linen pants or khakis with a button-down shirts Leave the jackets, suits, ties and heels at home!

Question

What Should I Know about the Hotels?

Answer

There are 4 hotels very close together in Maho beach that we highly recommend. All just a few mins from the airport and steps away from restaurants, bars, casino and market. Royal Islander La Plage - Affordable. Right on Maho beach with big pool, great for watching planes over the beach. Tortuga beach bar is on the property with great food and HH specials Sonesta Maho - All Inclusive resort with amenities such as live music, fitness center and private restaurants. Main pool is CURRENTLY under construction, but you are able to use the Royal Islander pool. It is the off season so likely will be open again by the Spring. Sonesta Ocean Point-ADULTS ONLY and all inclusive. Private Pool for Ocean Point use only. The Morgan - Not connected to the other 3 but still within walking distance of Maho beach. Known for their infinity pool they also have 2 close beach bars next to the property The Hilton Flamingo Beach is another option in Simpson Bay. The hotel offers a pool, palapas, and beach on Pelican Key. There are restaurants, piano bar, market within walking distance. The Hilton is about 10-15 minutes further from the wedding venue, Kalatua. The area is a bit hilly for those who may have mobility issues. We will provide transportation to the wedding venue from these hotels only. Keep in mind it may be difficult to get a taxi late at night from the venue unless prearranged.

Question

How to Get Around the Island?

Answer

UBER/LYFT IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE ISLAND Saint Martin still works on taxis, they are widely available at the airport and hotels. Hotel Concierge or Restaurant Staff are happy to call you a cab. Taxi drivers will give you their card to pre-arrange travel if you need to come home from an excursion. Keep in mind this is not a typical American taxi, you may end up doing group rides with fellow passengers for efficiency, but everyone is super friendly! If you plan on traveling around the island pre/post wedding, rental cars are easily available from the airport or in Maho Some Cab Numbers in Advance:

Question

What is the Currency?

Answer

American Dollars and Euros are accepted. We recommend you BRING CASH for taxi's. Most do not accept credit cards and you will need cash if planning on exploring the island via Taxi

Question

Do I need a Passport?

Answer

Yes!! You will need a passport to travel internationally. Please make sure it is not expired :)

Answer

We recommend that you bring a European charging adapter to be safe. Most hotels have USB or American style outlet but not all. Adapters are also available for purchase or Hotel Concierge may be able to loan you one.

Saint Martin is a beautiful island with near perfect weather. It can get HOT in the middle of the day and the sun may be stronger than you are used to. Make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen, loose and breathable clothing and sun hats.
