Even before Sarah and Paul were engaged, Jake asked Paul to stand in his and Melanie’s wedding party in 2024—a gesture that reflected the confidence and support he’s always shown for their relationship. Since then, Jake has gone out of his way to build a genuine bond with Paul, whether at Starsiak family gatherings, on annual ski trips to Colorado, or—as pictured here—cheersing liters of beer together at the German beer garden in Columbus, OH.

Paul & his brother Steve (pictured here with their childhood companion, Nina), grew up together in the Pacific Northwest & Wisconsin. Both list Thai food as their favorite cuisine, and Paul’s long‑standing love of it has become something he shares with Sarah—so much so that routine takeout orders from their local Thai restaurant in Burnsville, MN have become a staple of their life together.

He and Paul became close in high school while carpooling to countless basketball games and practices. Their bond only strengthened in college, where many late‑night study sessions at Van Vleck Hall pushed them both toward the success they enjoy today.
