We first met in Summer 2013 at a Columbia sendoff event in Houston, TX. For one of us, it was love at first sight (Sarah still required some convincing). That might have been the end of that, but Columbia Housing seemed to have other plans in mind and we ended up living across the hall from one another freshman year. After a few persistent months, Sarah realized that Mitchell was not going anywhere, and we have been inseparable ever since!

Guised as a weekend trip to Cold Spring, NY in the Hudson Valley between our birthdays, Mitchell convinced Sarah to hike one of our favorite trails (Breakneck Ridge) at sunrise, to "beat the crowds". With a surprisingly good attitude for the time of day (and strong rain coats), we hiked the familiar rock scramble/trail. It was when we made it to the peak ("Snack Rock") the rain subsided, Mitchell set up his camera to take a photo and instead got down on one knee. It was a perfectly private moment, and after making it down the mountain we had the whole weekend to celebrate!
