Can you get to the venue without a car?

Answer

You can - but it's a little tricky! You can get to the closest large town, Chippenham, by bus or train - but Grittleton is a small village with limited public transport access to it, so regardless of where you are coming from car transportation of some form would be required to get to the wedding venue There are some, but limited, taxi companies operating in the area. To get a taxi from Chippenham train station to Grittleton House, simply follow the signs to the taxi rank. For all other taxi trips, it is strongly recommended that you pre-book your ride (two taxi companies that we have used before can be found on the Travel/Accommodation tab) Please refer to the travel section of this website for specific instructions regarding how to get to Chippenham from Heathrow or Bristol airport

How do I find train times/buy train tickets

If travelling in the United Kingdom by train, please visit the national rail website (https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/) both for advice regarding travelling, and to plan your trip. Tickets can be purchased at: - the train station - www.nationalrail.co.uk - www.thetrainline.com Train strikes could affect your journey so if booking in advance please check the national rail website closer to the time of your trip for any updates

How do I avoid foreign transaction fees/currency conversion fees?

Answer

There are some banking apps which offer debit cards with minimal to no exchange/foreign transaction fees. We use one called Revolute (https://www.revolut.com/en-US/a-radically-better-account/) which lets you exchange currencies and withdraw cash fee free (limitations apply). Additionally, some credit card companies offer no-foreign-transaction-fee credit cards.
