Flight
There are no direct flights from the United States to Sicily, but many can be found from all over Europe. Some easy places to travel through include Frankfort, Rome, and Milan. This can be a good chance to see another part of Europe if you are hoping to travel before or after the wedding.
Shuttle
June 7, 2018 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The most affordable way to get to the village is by taking a shuttle bus from the airport to Palermo Central Train Station, and then taking a train from Palermo Central Train Station to Santa Flavia Train Station (the closest stop to the village). Purchase bus tickets at the ticket counter outside of baggage claim. Departures are every 30 min. 6€ one way, or 10€ round trip. Palermo Central Train Station is the end of the line.
Train
Once your bus arrives at Palermo Central Train Station, purchase your train ticket inside for the train to Santa Flavia station (S.Flavia-Solunto), 3.80€. The end of the line is Termini Imerese station. You MUST validate your ticket before you get onto the train by inserting it into a small green and white box that will stamp it. Palermo Central Train Station has a McDonald's and a pay toilet, for all of your needs. Trains will take you most places you will want to go in Sicily. The trains are clean, efficient, and inexpensive. Recently, announcements on the train have also started to be made in English.
Travel Note
Taxis are easily available at the airport to take you directly to your hotel. They are about 90€ and can transport up to 6 people.
Rental Car
Cars can be rented at one of the many rental companies at the Palermo Airport. While driving is Sicily is far from the frantic insanity of Rome or Naples, there still is a learning curve. Roads are rarely marked well, and it is not always clear when streets are one-way. Some streets are also so narrow they can not be use by anything other than scooters or tiny cars.
Hotel
With everything you might expect in a luxury hotel, this location is for those looking to relax to the fullest and to have some familiar amenities. Situated immediately on the sea and a bit remote, rooms and grounds have beautiful views. Amenities include three pools, including one saltwater pool, bars, restaurants, live music, bars, a gym, free wifi, air conditioning, organized excursions, a taxi service available upon request, and a 24 hour front desk with English-speaking staff. There is the option to include a breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet. We recommend skipping the dinner buffet and having dinner across the street at All' Ancora. Note: Although you can walk to the wedding festivities from here, it's a long walk, and it'd be easier by car.

Hotel
Located in the heart of Porticello, this location is very convenient for the wedding festivities. Amenities include free wifi, air conditioning, and some rooms have sea-views. Note: We did not get a chance to visit this hotel. Because it's located right in the action of the port, it's possible that it might be a bit noisy.
