Sarah and Justin met as middle school students in the early 2000s and have been basically inseparable ever since. They were best friends for years, sharing memories like coming to school an hour early to spend time together and walking together at high school graduation, before becoming a couple in their 20s.

Sarah and Justin went on a vacation to Leavenworth, WA with Justin’s parents and brother. Justin (an avid fly fisher) said they were going to drive around to scout fishing locations. He mentioned at the trailhead of one of the stops: "there are really cool rocks here, keep an eye out." Once they were by the river, Justin called Sarah over to show her a painted rock with her name on it and told her to pick it up. It said "marry me?" on the underside. Both Justin and Sarah instantly burst into happy tears! Justin’s entire family was in on it, from his mom painting the proposal rock, to his dad filming the proposal, and his brother driving the whole family around to the potential “fishing spots.”
