Half Moon Bay State Beach
There are many beaches along the coast to choose from and they all offer amazing views.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
We love to walk along the boardwalk, pier, and sit by the beach. One of our favorite places that reminds us of the life we have built together by the sea.
Downtown Santa Cruz
Downtown is a great place to check out for a delicious brunch, dinner, ice cream or to grab a drink. We recommend Zachary's Restaurant or Walnut Avenue Cafe for a brunch. Our favorite dinner spot is El Palomar for Mexican food. If you have room for dessert, The Penny Ice Creamery is a unique and organic ice cream option with seasonal and handmade flavors that never disappoints. There are many bars to choose from downtown as well. For a more relaxed environment, we love to go to Lupulo Craft Beer House. If your looking for a local wine tasting check out Big Basin Vineyards. The tasting room is downtown and a spot we check out frequently as wine club members.
West Cliff Drive
Take a beautiful walk along the coast! One of our favorite things to do living in Santa Cruz.
Natural Bridges State Beach
There are many beaches to choose from in the area. This is a nice beach to end a walk along west cliff.
Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park
While in California, you have to check out the amazing redwoods! Take a trip in nature and soak in the beautiful trees you will never forget.
Capitola
Capitola is a cute little town to walk around, grab a bite to eat, shop and enjoy the beach. It is known for its colorful row of homes.
Regale Winery & Vineyards
One of our favorite wineries in the area and offers stunning views on the mountaintop. We have many winery recommendation if this is on your list while in CA!
Napa
The world famous wine growing region, Napa Valley, is a must see if you love wine as much as we do. We recommend exploring more of Calistoga area of Napa Valley. Our favorite winery is Castello di Amorosa for the beautiful scenery and of course the wine. Be sure to do the tour if Castello di Amorosa is on your list to view the inside of the stunning castle.
San Francisco
If you choose to extend your stay, San Francisco is less than an hour from Half Moon Bay. There are so many things to see in the Golden City! Check out the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Coit Tower, Pier 39, Oracle Park, Lombard St. and so much more. If you plan to book one of the cruises or boat tours, we recommend buying tickets in advance. One of our favorite things to do in the city is walk along the path from Oracle Park to Ghirardelli Square. Grab some delicious chocolate and check out the San Francisco Brewing Company. This was one of our first dates that we love to relive.
