Question

Why Norfork, Arkansas?

Answer

That is a great question. Everyone can thank VRBO-targeted ads on Sarah's Instagram for that. As soon as we decided when we wanted to get married, it was the first suggestion. We fell in love, and booked it! We know it is a distance away from any major city, and it will require some traveling to get into this quaint little town. The town is very small, and only has a few restaurants and a grocery store. Mountain Home, Arkansas is a short drive away and has many more stores and restaurants, however our venue is situated on the main town road, so many Norfork amenities are a short walk away!

Question

A Double Feature? At a Wedding?

Answer

Yep! If you don't know, movies are extremely important to both of us. Especially horror movies. It was some of the first things we talked about when we first matched on Tinder, the theater has been a huge venue for many dates, and it has been one of the strongest things to bond over together (Second place in Horror movie trivia our first Halloween together). Hell, Sarah even got a whole Masters in horror (don't bring it up unless you want a whole lecture on the parallels of female horror tropes' between classic and modern arthouse horror cinema)! Plus, neither of us is really into the dancing wedding thing. So we figured, why not make our wedding exactly how we want it to be? No pressures or traditional aspects. Just the kind of wedding we would want to go to. Therefore, yes. After dinner, we will be doing a Double Feature movie night. We will be showing the classic Friday the 13th in honor of our wedding date and also the fact we will be on a lake, for our first film. The second will be up to everyone else! Once you RSVP, we will send you an email with a poll of which wedding-themed horror movie you would want to watch. The one with the most votes will be our closer for the evening. We will have popcorn and candy and other treats in lieu of a "wedding cake" for everyone to enjoy! We will also be bringing our projector and weather permitting, will have the showings outside.

Question

Can I Bring a Plus-One?

Answer

No! Whoever is addressed on the envelopes of our invites is who's invited to our wedding. We are considering this event more of an elopement than a full-on wedding. We do not have the space nor the amenities for additional people. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Will there be alcohol at the wedding?

Answer

Short answer, not really! We will have wine and something sparkling to toast with at our family dinner after the ceremony, but otherwise, it will be a dry wedding! Neither Jose nor Sarah are drinkers, so we ask that you respect that. We will have many options of beverages available. We want this to be a very low-key and calm wedding, and we ask that if you are to attend, to help ensure that happens.

Question

So, do I have to dress nice for this wedding?

Answer

Great question, Daniel! We ask that everyone wear something that would fit into the "cocktail" attire category. We're not asking for ball gowns, but we don't want any denim or cargo shorts. For men, a nice button-down and slacks or a suit would be appropriate. For women, a nice dress or power suit (we're looking at you Savanna) would be awesome! It may be chilly and we are looking to have the ceremony outside, so make sure to plan for that!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Here’s the thing, we want everyone mentally present for our ceremony. We have hired our wonderful photographer to take pictures during the ceremony, and we do not want a stray phone in the way of a picture we are going to cherish forever. So during the ceremony, please do not bring phones! During the dinner and activities after, by all means! Take as many photos as you want!
