we tied the knot!

Jose and Sarah met in 2021 on a dating app, where their first few messages were somehow mostly about animals. Jose shared his deep expertise on Pittsburgh wildlife (squirrels and deer spotted on pandemic walks), while Sarah countered with something a bit more dramatic: sharks. Naturally, this made for perfect first-date conversation during their walk through Schenley Park. Since then, their conversations have expanded to include slightly more dynamic topics— like real estate, starting businesses, and Taylor Swift. Sarah is a devoted fan of the Eras Tour documentary; Jose is a devoted fan of Sarah’s passionate, living-room performances with her bedazzled microphone. They’ve also developed a shared language of over-the-top puns, courtesy of Jose’s deeply cheesy sense of humor— humor that Sarah pretends to roll her eyes at but secretly loves. These days, they keep each other in balance. Jose answers all of Sarah's questions (how does he know so much?) and makes Sarah’s smoothies every morning— sometimes with surprising ingredients, always with love— and Sarah makes sure Jose sticks to schedules and doesn't get distracted by 12 side projects before noon. They’ve built a home filled with laughter, half-finished cups of coffee, and far too many conversations about whether or not to buy a third Swiffer. Together, they wrangle their two cats, Turtle and Frankie (who rule the house with passive-aggressive stares), and chase after their shoe-thieving puppy, Pippa, who believes every cat toy is a treasure. It’s chaotic, it’s sweet, and it’s perfectly them.
