FAQs

Question

How should I prepare for the altitude?

Answer

Drink twice as much water as you think you need! Start hydrating a few days before you leave home. You might also want to limit alcohol on your first night—one drink at 9,000 feet feels like three in lower altitudes. If you are worried about your reaction to altitude it is suggested you stay one night in Denver prior to heading up to higher altitudes.

What if I feel altitude sick?

Answer

f you get a headache or feel lightheaded, it’s likely the altitude. Most shops in town sell 'boost' oxygen canisters, rest, catch your breath, drink plenty of water.

Yes! You are much closer to the sun here. Even if it’s chilly or cloudy, the UV rays are intense. Bring a hat and high-SPF sunscreen.
