How We Met

8/05/2019

Alright everyone, let me tell you the tale of how we met. Who knew a six hour first date with an awkward turn would lead us to forever. We originally met online, but we prefer to tell the story of our first date. I asked Jarred to meet for coffee. I was a hour late because I was helping a family friend with her chemo treatments. Jarred was so patient and waited for me. After we sat for coffee we talked for hours. It was like talking to an old friend. After several hours, we decided that we didn't want the date to end. I had heard of a dog exhibit at the Museum of Man. Since we both love dogs we decided to go. Jarred offered to drive me in his car, but I told him that he couldn't take me to a second location. Then, I asked if he was going to stuff me in the trunk, as a joke. When we arrived to the Museum of Man we discovered that 90% of the museum was a cannibal exhibit! This is where we found out we each had a love for learning. We read, watched, and even played a video game where we ate our hypothetical children to stay alive. After six hours our first date was coming to an end. I walked Jarred to his car and wished secretly for another date. On my way home I heard my phone buzz. It was Jarred asking for a second date! And that my friends, is where our love story began.

Our Proposal

8/18/2024

Sit down and let me tell you the story of the night Jarred asked me to marry him. Jarred and I were coming up on our fifth anniversary, 08/19/2024. We had planned to go camping on Mount Laguna. Mount Laguna is very special to us. It's where we had our first kiss, where we had spent countless nights stargazing, and where we spent every anniversary. After the sun had set and the stars came out we lit a fire and danced under the stars. Just as we always have every anniversary. After dancing, Jarred got down on one knee and proposed under a blue moon with a Ring Pop ring box. I said yes to the Ring Pop box and tried to put it on my finger. Jarred told me to wait and opened the Ring Pop to reveal a sapphire ring. I said yes, again. In the morning, we called all our family to tell them the great news and headed to Denny's for breakfast. At breakfast, without knowing it they gave me a mug with an engagement ring on it. Just like it was meant to be. And that friends and family, lead us to an almost 2 year engagement and our wedding day, where the next chapter of our story begins.
