Things To Do

We love Durham and think you all will too. Here are a few things to check out while you are in the area!

Museum of Life and Science

433 West Murray Avenue, Durham, NC 27704
, (919) 220-5429

Great option for families! Outdoor and indoor exhibits. There is also a large playground so plan to spend plenty of time here!

Monuts

1002 9th Street, Durham, NC 27705
, (919) 286-2642

Stop here for breakfast on your way out of town or for lunch on Saturday before the wedding. Menu has biscuits, donuts, salads and sandwiches. It is worth the wait if the line is long!

Ponysaurus Brewing Company

219 Hood Street, Durham, NC 27701
, (919) 584-4265

Our go to spot. We would always grab a beer after I picked up Dan from the airport Friday afternoon when he'd visit for the weekend.

Eno River State Park

6101 Cole Mill Road, Durham, NC 27705
, (919) 383-1686

Great spot for hiking or trail running. Cox Mountain trail is our favorite loop to walk or run! About 20 minutes from downtown Durham, stop at Monuts on the way back to the hotel for a post run snack.

William B. Umstead State Park

8801 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27617
, (919) 571-4170

Technically in Raleigh, about 30 minutes from downtown Durham. Another favorite spot for trail running or a walk in the woods! Recommend Company Mill or Sycamore trails for more technical footing or the multi use trails for mountain biking or less technical running. Make a big loop with the multi use trail from the Reedy Creek parking lot for a great long run.

Foster's Market

2694 Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, Durham, NC 27707
, (919) 489-3944

Another good spot for breakfast or lunch! They have great outdoor seating if the sun is shining.

Duke Campus

Take a walk around East Campus (a short-ish walk from the hotel) or extend your route by continuing down Campus Dr and find your way to West Campus to check out the famous Duke Chapel.

Al Buehler Trail Parking

3001 Cameron Boulevard, Durham, NC 27705

Close by trail great for a walk or run. Just under 3 miles for the loop, plenty of parking!

For all the days along the way
