After connecting over our love of Christmas movies in April of 2019, we went on our first date to our favorite Italian restaurant in Columbus. After a few glasses of wine, bonding over our love of Ohio State and our hometown football teams, we nearly closed the restaurant down. A few more dates later, and a conversation about titles, we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Over the next few months, we met each other's friends and families, traveled to each others hometowns for the holidays, and fell in love. Colin even overcame his cat allergy and became the best cat dad to our cat Tucker. As quickly as our first year of dating went, we were just as quickly thrown into navigating a global pandemic together. During that time, Sarah finished up her thesis and graduated with her Masters and Colin studied for and passed his CPA. As if that stress wasn't enough, we decided to take the next step and move in together. Shortly after, we even adopted our dog Carmen. We became the happiest family of four. That second year didn't come without its trials and tribulations, but it taught us so much about each other. We like to think that if we can navigate all of that during a global pandemic, we can navigate anything life throws at us! After two and a half years of dating, we were ready to take the next step, and Colin proposed! Over the past several months, we've been enjoying the journey of engagement and planning our wedding! We've also recently just bought our first home together and are enjoying all the aspects (fun and stressful) of homeownership! We can’t wait to get married and celebrate with all of you!

We had planned a weekend trip to Rochester in September of 2021 to go to the Steelers v. Bills game in Buffalo. Colin's brother asked us to take our dogs for a walk along Lake Ontario before the Ohio State v. Oregon game on Saturday. So we woke up a little early, drove up to the lake and started walking the dogs. Colin was acting weird and Sarah questioned it, but never expected him to pop the question that weekend. We got down to the water and Colin pulled something out of his back pack - that's when Sarah knew! He got down on one knee and she said yes! He picked her up to hug her and turned her around saying "I have another surprise, look up there" and pointed to Sarah's parents and brother walking toward the lake. Sarah screamed, left Colin in the dust, and ran over to her family. The rest is history! Ohio State proceeded to lose and the Steelers upset the Bills that weekend (Sarah was thrilled, Colin not so much). It was the best weekend and we couldn't have imagined it any other way (except maybe with an Ohio State win)!
