Although we grew up in the same community we officially "met" while participating in the Adath USY production of Beauty and the Beast. Sarah was on tech crew while Caleb was in the chorus (both super important). Sarah and Caleb's paths crossed over the next few years, but the stars never aligned [yet]. Fast forward to Thanksgiving weekend post-college. Sarah had some of her high school friends over for a reunion. Sarah's cousin Shira, and Caleb's cousin, Alexis, cornered Sarah in her kitchen and told her that they had come up with the best idea, Sarah should go on a date with Caleb. There was just one hiccup - Caleb lived in Chicago while Sarah was in Minneapolis.

Fast forward one more time. When a small Chicago apartment wasn't big enough for lockdown, Caleb packed up a U-Haul and headed back to the North Star State. Meanwhile, Sarah was scrolling social media (because what else was there to do?) and saw that Caleb was back home. On a whim, she DM-ed him to see if he wanted to go for a socially distanced walk with Ollie. Ollie worked his magic and the rest is history.

In early 2021, Caleb and Sarah booked a trip to Iceland for 2022. Naturally, Caleb thought that this would be the perfect place for a proposal. Sarah did not. Caleb, quick on his feet, picked the coldest day in November for the proposal, wanting it to feel as similar to his Icelandic proposal as possible. The week before the proposal, Caleb and his dad went to Lebanon Hills Regional Park to scope out the best location. Sarah could tell something was up - Caleb asked her about her nails for the first time ever and he really wanted to make sure she took a shower after the Peloton before the hike. On Sunday morning, November 28th, Sarah, Ollie and Caleb piled into the Jeep for their hike. As they proceeded on their hike, Caleb was extremely specific about the route, he did not let Sarah stray from the path. Finally, they arrived at a clearing to stop for water. Caleb got down on one knee and proposed! After saying yes, Sarah was surprised to find that both her dad, David, and Caleb's dad, David, were hiding in the woods taking pictures of the entire thing.
