Jacksonville International Airport is the closest in proximity to downtown St. Augustine, approximately 45 minutes by car.
The Orlando International Airport is ~2 hours from downtown St. Augustine.
We recommend staying downtown and using a ride-share (Uber, Lyft) if your destination is not within walking distance. There will be increased traffic during the Nights of Lights, often causing congested streets and limited parking.
