How We Found Love

"We met in a dark alley." Anthony loves to say this to people. We met at a bar (gasp) called the Harlequin Alley, a short-lived, much beloved karaoke spot in downtown Shreveport, in 2008. Neither one of us were looking for "the rest of our lives," but we were quickly comfortable with each other and we discovered that we had something in common: Shreve City Self Storage. I worked there. He had a storage unit there. And suddenly, he had cause to visit that storage unit, a lot. (Anthony wants me to assure people here that I wanted him to come over, I was not being stalked). We were hanging out so much that my mom ended up inviting him on our family vacation to Gulf Shores, AL in May of 2009. We came home to Shreveport an "official couple" and our worlds were never the same. We have gone through A LOT to get where we are today. As most of you know, Anthony was married when he was very young and Draken's, Armand's and Violet's birth mom ended up passing away after a long hard road. I have also gone through a big period of change in the last decade. We have moved a couple times (once halfway across the country), we've welcomed a beautiful little girl, and we've moved a couple more times. We have fought like cats and dogs and we've seen each other through heart ache, sickness, victory, loss, and growth. We have grown independently, but we have also grown strong as a couple, and as a family. We welcome you to witness as we finally make this thing official.

For all the days along the way
