Madrid is a special place for us, it is where Alfonso grew up and where much of his family still lives. Living in New York, it is important for us to visit Madrid as often as possible, which made it an easy choice for our wedding destination. Choosing the church for our ceremony came easily as well. The baroque interior and incredible frescos were an immediate draw for Sarah, seeming to pop right out of one of her Art History textbooks. However the specialness of this church not only lies with the beauty of the architecture and painting, but also with Alfonso and his family. Alfonso’s parents, Alfonso and Adela, were married in this church and Alfonso celebrated his First Holy Communion and attended school there. Luckily the Buccarelli’s are accustomed to European travel and Buc and Mary are delighted to make the trip over to Spain (as they have already many times) for this special day. We feel especially lucky to have all the support and love from our parents and future in-laws.

Como bien sabéis, Madrid es un lugar especial para nosotros. Es donde creció Alfonso y donde aún vive gran parte de su familia. Elegir la iglesia para nuestra ceremonia fue fácil. Lo especial de esta iglesia no solo radica en la belleza de la arquitectura y la pintura del interior, sino también en la conexión especial con Alfonso y su familia. Sus padres, Alfonso y Adela, se casaron en esta iglesia hace 36 años y Alfonso celebró su Primera Comunión. También asistió a la escuela allí. El interior barroco y los increíbles frescos fueron una atracción inmediata para Sarah, que parecían salir directamente de uno de sus libros de texto de Historia del Arte. Afortunadamente, los Buccarelli están acostumbrados a viajar por Europa y Richard y Mary están encantados de viajar a España (como ya lo han hecho muchas veces) para este día tan especial. Nos sentimos especialmente afortunados de contar con todo el apoyo y cariño de nuestros padres y futuros suegros.
