After graduating from Duke, Sarah moved to Baltimore. She went to a potluck with her roommate where she met Adam, and his roommates Aritro and Sean. She and Adam discovered they both attended Hopkins, loved EDM, and lived across the street. They quickly became friends and planned to all go out again. Throughout the school year, they went to Bond street (too often), played board games, and explored Baltimore together. The next school year, Adam moved to France for a fellowship while Sarah graduated from her Masters program and moved to Boston.

After Adam moved back to Baltimore, he visited Boston in October 2018 to see Sarah and they enjoyed a fun weekend together. Afterwards he brainstormed ways to ask her out. In December, he invited Sarah to visit Baltimore to celebrate his birthday in January and see a DJ they both liked - Gryffin! Sarah invited Adam's roommate, Sean, to tag along but he claimed he was "busy". On January 26th, Sarah and Adam celebrated Adam's belated 27th birthday at Unconventional Diner in D.C. and saw Gryffin at Echostage. Afterwards, Sarah realized this was a date and hoped that they'd see each other again soon.

Four years of long distance later, Adam is at Columbia for his post-doc and Sarah is at Stony Brook for medical school. One rainy Saturday, Sarah goes to brunch with her friends, Jungah and John, and they somehow lead Sarah to Central Park during a thunderstorm. There she finds Adam with many of their loved ones, where he asked her to marry him.
