Lafayette Coney Island

Our favorite Coney Island in the city. Feel free to try "American" next door and decide for yourself which one is best. The two establishments have existed since 1917 when a brotherly dispute divided the original restaurant in half. Don't forget a "loose burger" with your order.

Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts, located in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, has one of the largest and most significant art collections in the United States.

Motown Museum

2648 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48208

Originally the recording studios and residence of Berry Gordy and Motown Records. "Hitsville U.S.A." is the nickname given to Motown's first headquarters. A former photographers' studio located at 2648 West Grand Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan

Belle Isle

Detroit, MI

Belle Isle Park, known simply as Belle Isle, is a 982-acre island park in Detroit, Michigan. It consists of Belle Isle, an island in the Detroit River, as well as several surrounding islets. The U.S.-Canada border is in the channel south of Belle Isle such that the island is not in Canada.

The Henry Ford is a large indoor and outdoor history museum complex and a National Historic Landmark in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn, MI.

Eastern Market

Detroit, MI

The Eastern Market area is named for the 19th-century market operating here, with vendors selling everything from tacos to colorful produce every Saturday. Sundays see the space packed with local jewelers and artists. Hip cafes and places serving classic Coney Island hot dogs dot the district whose warehouses are being revitalized with murals.

The Brakeman

The Brakeman is a great downtown hangout if you have some time to kill. Located next door to the Shinola Hotel, this American beer and rec hall that has featured draft beers. Hungry? You must stop by Penny Reds, the walk- up and order counter and get the chicken sandwich. You WONT regret it! This place also has fun games, foosball, table shuffleboard!
